<p>POSITION SUMMARY</p> <p>Financial Opportunity Centers (FOCs) are community-based centers that focus on the financial</p> <p>bottom line for low-to-moderate income individuals. This means changing people's financial</p> <p>behavior in a way that encourages them to make a long-term commitment to increasing income,</p> <p>decreasing expenses and acquiring assets.</p> <p>ProMedica Health Systems' FOC is a first of its kind operation. Collaborations with the Local</p> <p>Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), United Way and the Toledo Community Foundation support</p> <p>ProMedica' commitment to providing integrated care and addressing social determinants of</p> <p>health (SDOH) by offering financial coaching, job training and community health supports.</p> <p>The ProMedica FOC Financial Coach uses strong interpersonal, communication and customer</p> <p>service skills to facilitate financial coaching while simultaneously assisting with the integration of</p> <p>services into other ProMedica organizational and community initiatives.</p> <p>The ideal candidate must possess the ability to function in a fast-paced, team-oriented</p> <p>environment and should be experienced and comfortable communicating both one-on-one and</p> <p>with small groups of people on a variety of financial and social topics.</p> <p>ACCOUNTABILITIES</p> <ul> <li>All duties listed below are essential unless noted otherwise* </li></ul> <ol> <li>Provide direct service including conducting one-on-one coaching and training, aimed at helping </li></ol> <p>primarily low-to-moderate households to increase financial capability, positively improve financial</p> <p>behavior, and achieve financial goals.</p> <ol start="2"> <li> <p>Develop individualized financial stability action plans in collaboration with clients, including but not limited to, assisting with financial goal-setting, money management habits, savings, credit building, debt management, utilization of financial services and products, tax preparation, benefit screening, employment services, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Establish and execute fee-for-service contracts within partner companies.</p> </li><li> <p>Identify and refer participants to other community resources and services, as needed, to achieve</p> </li></ol> <p>clients' financial goals.</p> <ol start="5"> <li>Identify, cultivate and maintain effective relationships with key providers of other community </li></ol> <p>resources and services, coordinating efforts as needed in order to maximize client impact.</p> <ol start="6"> <li> <p>Ensure client's physical and electronic files are accurate, up to date and secure.</p> </li><li> <p>Create and financial based distribute content for clients, such as newsletters, tipsheets, blogs,</p> </li></ol> <p>videos, etc.</p> <ol start="8"> <li> <p>Continue professional development to acquire new skills and techniques to promote high-quality services and impact.</p> </li><li> <p>Work with leadership to adapt coaching methods and tools in order to create more effective client and program service delivery and outcomes.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.</p> </li><li> <p>Conduct workshops as a means of outreach and education.</p> </li><li> <p>Represent ProMedica FOC at various community meetings, conferences, committees; attend and participate in special events to assist our community support efforts.</p> </li></ol> <p>Job Requirements</p> <p>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Education: Bachelor's degree in social work, business, finance, or related field.</p> <p>Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to provide financial coaching services through a diverse and inclusive lens. </li><li>Experience serving low-to-moderate income working populations required. </li><li>Excellent social/interpersonal skills and writing ability commensurate with the </li></ul> <p>communication and reporting requirement of the position.</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge and experience in employment, financial and income supports coaching, </li></ul> <p>counseling, and personal finances, particularly in the areas of budgeting, asset and credit</p> <p>building.</p> <ul> <li>Ability to apply critical and strategic thinking. </li><li>Must be willing to complete additional certifications within the first 6 months of hire, </li></ul> <p>including but not limited to financial coaching, credit counseling, and WorkKeys.</p> <p>Years of Experience: 2-3 years in a financial coaching role. Experience and demonstrated success</p> <p>in serving at-risk and/or low-to-moderate income populations.
