<p>Posting Details</p> <p>Position Information</p> <p>Job Title Assistant Director of Student Care (11 Month Position) Posting Number S1532P Pay Range</p> <p>The compensation for this appointment will range from $33.00 to $35.00 hourly and reflects what California Baptist University reasonably expects to pay for this staff appointment. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications and experience of the applicant, as well as market conditions. In addition to wages, CBU offers a robust suite of employee benefits.</p> <p>Position Summary Information</p> <p>Summary</p> <p>The Assistant Director of Student Care will serve as a resource, reference, and support for students in times of illness, injury, and crisis. This person will work closely with the Director of Student Care to address the needs of students in the areas of physical health, emotional health, and family needs that may affect their academic performance and engagement within the CBU community by performing the following duties. This is an 11 month position.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <p>Other duties may be assigned.</p> <ul> <li>Assist with all operations associated with Student Care and the Office of Student Support. </li><li>Manage the process of receiving, evaluating, assigning, and tracking student care cases that may be submitted to Student Care. </li><li>Develop care plans for students in collaboration with various campus resources including, but not limited to, the Counseling Center, the International Center, Residence Life, Spiritual Life, and Student Success. </li><li>Serve on the University's Care Team. </li><li>Ensure effective case management through regular communication with staff and faculty regarding appropriate follow-up. </li><li>Maintain communication and follow-up with students and provide information regarding appropriate campus resources. </li><li>Act as a resource and liaison to members of the CBU community on matters pertaining to student well-being. </li><li>Build and maintain collaborative relationships with Inland Empire community resources for student issues including, but not limited to, food insecurity and homelessness. </li><li>Oversee the delivery process for students who may need meals, mail, and miscellaneous campus resources due to injury or illness. </li><li>Maintain inventories of relevant material and/or equipment, identify and assess inventory requirements, and make recommendations for appropriate purchases for the Student Care-related functions. </li><li>Prepare reports related to the tracking of student care cases. </li><li>Monitor and evaluate operational effectiveness and effect changes required for improvement. </li><li>Recommend and participate in the development of appropriate University policies and procedures. </li><li>Present a positive and supportive image of California Baptist University. </li><li>Perform other duties that are specific to the Office of Student Support. </li></ul> <p>Supervisory Responsibilities</p> <p>This position could be responsible for assigning work and/or giving direction to part-time Student Workers, in order to complete office work assignments.</p> <p>Other Knowledge Skills and Abilities</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated ability and willingness to live and uphold the University's Christ-centered mission and values. </li><li>A growing and dynamic Christian faith, which is naturally communicated with words and actions. </li><li>Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications. </li><li>A thorough knowledge of: Business English and arithmetic; general office methods, procedures and practices. </li><li>Ability to plan, develop, and coordinate multiple projects. </li><li>Ability to read and write at a level appropriate to the duties of the position. </li><li>Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports. </li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body. </li><li>Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented. </li><li>Ability to maintain confidentiality. </li><li>Excellent telephone courtesy, knowledge, and experience. </li><li>Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures. </li><li>Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials. </li><li>Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures. </li><li>Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns. </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit; and requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard or other office equipment. Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers; and speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate in person or over the phone. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.</p> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
