<p>Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Include but are not limited to the following:</p> <p>Safety</p> <ul> <li>Uses all tools, equipment, and vehicles in a safe and careful manner and for their intended use. </li><li>Imperative that maintenance personnel adhere to all safety standards, procedures and policies to ensure that effective execution of duties and responsibilities </li></ul> <p>Mechanics</p> <ul> <li>Operates cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts. </li><li>Welds parts together using both gas welding or brazing and any combination of gauges, valves, pressure regulators and related equipment. </li><li>Use of power tools such as grinders, saws, drills, etc. </li><li>Moves machinery and equipment such as telehandler, skid loader or forklift. </li><li>Assembles machines, bolts, welds, rivets, or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures. </li><li>Align machines and equipment. </li><li>Dismantles machines. </li></ul> <p>Maintenance & Repairs</p> <ul> <li>Repairs and lubricated machines and equipment. </li><li>Maintains records of maintenance activities. </li><li>Ensures that work area, equipment, and vehicles are all neat, clean, and well maintained. </li></ul> <p>Other</p> <ul> <li>Works necessary hours as requested by manager to ensure completion of projects, response to needed maintenance requests, and provide exceptional quality service. </li></ul> <p>Basic Employment Expectations:</p> <p>Safety</p> <ul> <li>Performs work in a safe manner at all times and uses the appropriate PPE. </li><li>Checks the work area for hazards and corrects/reports unsafe conditions. </li><li>Considers the safety of oneself, and other employees, and customers. </li><li>Follows all safety protocols and seeks advice from supervisor when uncertain. </li></ul> <p>Communication</p> <ul> <li>Maintains open communication and cooperates with supervisor, departments, and fellow employees. </li><li>Communicates with supervisor and others immediately when unexpected problems cause absence, lateness, or the need to leave early. </li></ul> <p>Accountability & Professionalism</p> <ul> <li>Abides by policies set forth in the employee policy manual. </li><li>Carries a fair share of the workload. </li><li>Promotes NEW Cooperative through positive, friendly, and professional interactions. </li><li>Is punctual, follows directives, and works in an efficient and timely manner; accepts personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of the work. </li><li>Understands that satisfactory attendance is essential to the efficient operation of the work environment. </li></ul> <p>Customer Service</p> <ul> <li>Continually works to satisfy customers to address questions/concerns through effective communication, solving problems, responding to questions, and managing their expectations. </li></ul> <p>Personal/Professional Development</p> <ul> <li>Establishes personal performance goals and works toward these goals. </li><li>Continually upgrades and demonstrates knowledge of the job. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications & Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Must be licensed and insurable to drive. Travel between locations is required. </li><li>One to two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience with a good mechanical aptitude. </li><li>Ability to work in all types of environments, including but not limited to elevated areas (heights), dusty conditions, various weather conditions (hot to cold). </li><li>Understanding of the time commitments of the role throughout the year, as well as the seasonality of the farm supply business and the in-season time commitment. </li><li>Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. </li><li>Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. </li><li>Must be able to interact and effectively communicate with customer, peers and individuals at all levels of the organization. </li><li>Possesses problem solving capability and understands the operation processes. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <ul> <li>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
