<p>MCG Telecommunications Lineman</p> <p>Mahaska Communication Group (MCG) is looking for a MCG Telecommunications Lineman at our Oskaloosa location. A Telecommunications Lineman is responsible for the placement and repair of fiber optic cable within spaces that have aerial and/or buried power, gas, and other utilities. If your experience aligns with the qualifications outlined below, we look forward to hearing from you!</p> <p>Essential Criteria:</p> <ul> <li>High school degree or GED. </li><li>Experience with using hand tools and construction equipment preferred. </li><li>Previous telecommunication or municipal electric utility experience is preferred. </li><li>A valid Iowa Drivers License and ability to drive to and from the work site is required. </li><li>Ability to operate and maintain heavy equipment related to but not limited to bucket trucks, aerial lifts, skid loaders, trenchers, cable plows, excavators, etc. </li><li>Ability to accurately operate underground locating equipment and bore rig. </li><li>Strong oral, written, and organizational skills. </li><li>Ability to professionally address customers and team member concerns. </li><li>Must be able to follow and understand established standards. </li><li>Self-motivated needs to work well unsupervised. </li><li>Ability to work at heights of up to 45. </li><li>Ability to work a variable schedule, to include on-call rotation, days/nights and weekends as needed, and travel where needed. </li><li>Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check. </li></ul> <p>Roles and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for promoting safety consciousness and for adhering to OSHA, Utility, Federal, State, and Local safety requirements during the placement of fiber optic cable. </li><li>Installs, maintains, and repairs the communication network, including overhead and underground fiber, framing, strand, duct, enclosures, and copper. </li><li>Provides accurate as-built information to be entered into GIS system. </li><li>Troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs the communication network, including OTDR, splicing, and replacement of fiber and copper cable. </li><li>Performs QC & QA on all work performed. </li><li>Participates in repairs in the event of an emergency. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Connecting you.
