<p>Job Description</p> <p>The Assistant Category Manager will be responsible for managing a small category of suppliers and products. The Assistant Category Manager will investigate the best possible product for th best possible value and will negotiate program support. This role manages existing programs within their assigned category, and collaborates with replenishment buyers.</p> <p>Measures supplier performance within assigned category, including supplier score-carding and regularly scheduled category and supplier reviews.</p> <p>Seeks out new suppliers, products, and opportunities for innovation within assigned category. Conducts vendor/broker meetings within assigned category.</p> <p>Develops plans for category growth and profit opportunities.</p> <p>Assists Category Managers with analytics pertaining to larger category development opportunities and supplier meetings/presentations.</p> <p>Manages rebate programs, ensuring sensitive information is handled appropriately, and overstocked products.</p> <p>Responds to vendor, sales, customer service questions and requests in a friendly, timely, quality manner.</p> <p>Consults with appropriate stakeholders on customer requests regarding product specifications, quality, and other inquiries/issues as necessary.</p> <p>Performs other related duties as assigned.</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <p>High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience</p> <p>2-4 years of experience in food/bev category management. Exceptional negotiation and relationship building aptitude.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Bachelors</p>
