<p>This is skilled welding work at the journeyman level in metal fabrication and repair; laying out and designing the work to be done; and using acetylene and electrical welding equipment in the heating, welding, cutting, and brazing of ferrous and nonferrous metals in accordance with standard trade practice. An employee in this class must exercise a considerable degree of initiative, judgement, and ingenuity in performing day-to-day work. This position will primarily be working on Refuse Equipment, and the hours will be Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. There will be overtime available on Saturdays when workload dictates.</p> <p>Salary: $24.54 - $34.47 Hourly</p> <p>Close Date: 04-30-2026 (11:59 PM)</p> <p>Up to $500 per fiscal year tool allowance</p> <p>To Qualify</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications. Applicants Must:</p> <ul> <li>Possess a valid high school diploma or GED equivalency. </li><li>Possess and maintain a valid Driver License. </li><li>Have considerable experience as a journeyman welder including experience with MIG, TIG, and stick welding. </li><li>Have fabrication experience. </li><li>Have basic computer skills. </li><li>Be able to assist in mechanical repairs when workload dictates. </li><li>Be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. </li><li>Acknowledge this position is designated as Emergency Critical (EC) and if hired into the position, an applicant must be immediately available to the department before, during, and after a declared emergency and/or disaster. </li></ul> <p>Selection Process</p> <p>IMPORTANT APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS</p> <p>For purposes of employment, re-employment, promotion, transfer or demotion, the most qualified applicants will be selected to continue in the hiring process.
