May assist in the coordination of tasks for subordinates. Independence level: Works under general supervision.</p> <p>The IT Disaster Recovery Services Analyst at Exelon is a critical individual contributor responsible for coordinating the IT Disaster Recovery program, ensuring all in-scope applications fulfill annual recovery requirements and are prepared to respond effectively to disruptions and disasters. This position focuses on planning, testing, and continuous improvement of disaster recovery readiness, ensuring that comprehensive DR plans and regular exercises are in place so that application teams are prepared to execute recovery effectively.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Plan & Coordinate: DR Exercises Develop and manage the annual disaster recovery testing calendar, ensuring all critical applications in scope of the program perform required DR drills and tabletop exercises on schedule. Facilitate cross-functional participation in enterprise exercises and design realistic tabletop scenarios to validate recovery procedures and team readiness. </li><li>Review & Challenge: DR Plans Oversee the maintenance of Disaster Recovery Plans for critical applications, requiring that they are updated at least annually and after major changes or tests. Challenge plan documentation by working with application owners to verify completeness, currency, and alignment with defined RTO RPO requirements. Ensure that any gaps or outdated information in recovery runbooks are identified and addressed promptly. </li><li>Ensure RTO RPO Compliance & Reporting: Monitor and report on DR program compliance, including tracking that each application meets its recovery testing obligations and recovery performance objectives. Produce concise, executive-friendly reports on DR readiness (e.g. drill completion rates, success vs. failure statistics, open remediation items) for senior IT leadership and governance forums. Manage the process for DR plan exceptions and remediation when applications are not meeting requirements, following up with stakeholders to close gaps. </li><li>Post-Incident Analysis & Continuous Improvement: Following any major incident or DR exercise, lead after-action reviews to evaluate how recovery plans and teams performed. Document lessons learned and collaborate with plan owners to drive improvements in DR plans, training, and procedures. This includes challenging application teams to address shortcomings, update their documentation, and undergo additional training or drills if necessary to bolster preparedness. </li><li>DR Subject-Matter Expertise & Guidance: Serve as a Disaster Recovery subject-matter expert for the organization. Provide guidance and best practices to application, infrastructure, and business continuity teams on developing robust recovery strategies. Act as a mentor and coach to uplift the DR capabilities of team members and application owners, fostering a culture of preparedness and accountability in executing and improving DR plans. </li></ul> <p>Note: This is a hybrid position (in-office with remote flexibility). Employees are required to be in office at least three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).</p> <p>This role is open to our corporate offices in IL, PA, NJ, DE, MD or Washington DC. No relocation is available.</p> <p>You must be able to commute within our service area to be considered.</p> <p>Primary Duties</p> <ul> <li>Plan and coordinate IT Disaster Recovery exercises. Develop and manage the annual DR testing calendar. Coordinate required technical recovery tests and tabletop exercises for all in scope applications. Facilitate cross functional participation and validate recovery execution and team readiness. (40%) </li><li>Maintain and review Disaster Recovery Plans. Oversee annual review and updates of Disaster Recovery Plans and recovery runbooks for critical applications. Partner with application owners to verify accuracy, completeness, and alignment with established RTO RPO requirements. Identify gaps and ensure corrective actions are completed. (25%) </li><li>Monitor DR compliance and reporting. Track program compliance, including test completion, recovery outcomes, and remediation status. Prepare concise status reports and metrics for leadership and governance forums. Manage exceptions and follow up on remediation for applications not meeting DR requirements. (20%) </li><li>Conduct post incident reviews and drive improvements. Lead after action reviews following DR exercises or incidents. Document lessons learned and coordinate updates to plans, procedures, and training to improve recovery readiness and execution. (10%) </li><li>Provide Disaster Recovery guidance and expertise. Serve as a DR subject matter resource to application, infrastructure, and continuity teams. Provide guidance on recovery strategies, standards, and best practices to support consistent and effective disaster recovery planning. (5%) </li></ul> <p>Job Scope</p> <ul> <li>As assigned, work effectively with outsourcing partners </li><li>Performs this service in support of (fill in business area i.e. Energy Delivery, Real Time, etc). </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelors degree and typically 2 to 5 years related experience in Information Technology or 6 to 9 equivalent combination of education and work experience in lieu of degree. </li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Excel </li><li>Knowledge of utility business practices and processes </li><li>Strong problem solving skills </li><li>Excellent communications skills (written and verbal) </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Disaster Recovery Experience: 2+ years of experience in IT Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, or IT Service Continuity roles. Proven track record in developing and managing disaster recovery plans and coordinating disaster recovery exercises (both technical recovery tests and tabletop simulations). </li><li>RTO RPO & Plan Management: Strong knowledge of RTO RPO and their use ability to ensure that recovery solutions meet these objectives and to verify alignment of DR plans with business continuity requirements. Experience reviewing technical recovery runbooks or DR plans for completeness and accuracy is essential. </li><li>ServiceNow & ITSM: Proficiency Solid understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) processes hands-on experience with ServiceNow (Exelon's ITSM platform) for tracking DR-related tasks, plan updates, and change management is required. </li><li>Analytical & Reporting Skills: Adept at using data to drive decisions. Able to track compliance metrics (e.g., drill completion rates, recovery success rates) and perform trend analysis on recovery performance. Attention to detail in documenting results and preparing executive-level reports on DR program status. </li><li>Communication & Leadership: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Capable of leading cross-functional meetings and workshops (e.g., DR plan reviews, tabletop exercise debriefs) and influencing without direct authority. Demonstrated ability to coordinate teams in a matrix environment and to mentor or train others in DR processes and best practices. </li><li>Data Reporting: Experience creating or using Power BI dashboards or similar business intelligence tools to visualize DR program metrics and compliance status for management review. </li><li>Industry Standards & Certification: Knowledge of industry best practices and frameworks for disaster recovery business continuity (e.g., ITIL processes, NIST SP 800-34 guidelines) is advantageous.
