<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and deliver engaging curriculum and lesson plans using design thinking frameworks to guide students through creative inquiry, prototyping, and iteration. </li><li>Provide instruction in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, 3D modeling (e.g., Tinkercad, Blender, Fusion 360), game development (e.g., Construct 3, Unity, Scratch), programming (basic to intermediate), and other digital tools for interactive and immersive design. </li><li>Implementation and assessment of lessons to meet the needs of all learners. </li><li>Implement assessments that focus on creative problem-solving, skill development, and project completion. </li><li>Recording of daily attendance, preparation of grades and comments on interim and quarterly reports for all students, in addition to regular communication with parents, social workers, school counselors regarding student progress. </li><li>Participate in the school community, including events, exhibitions, recruitment, and professional development. </li><li>Actively participates in the school community which may include student concerts, competitions, productions, exhibitions, and recruitment activities, open houses, regular faculty meetings as well as professional development activities, and prepares documentation necessary to support school events, activities and curriculum development. </li><li>Create public-facing opportunities for students to present their work via showcases, digital galleries, or interactive installations. </li><li>Has a strong understanding of industry-relevant digital media skills and is able to communicate effectively with others. </li><li>Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, and best practices in digital design and creative tech. </li></ul> <p>Overall Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (see below for more information)</p> <ul> <li>Must have extensive experience and/or schooling in digital media production. </li><li>Strong understanding of digital design, interactive design, 3d modeling, or creative coding. </li><li>Must have expertise with industry and consumer level digital media software.(ex. Adobe Creative cloud, Construct 3, Blender Unity, Tinkercad) </li><li>Knowledge of art curriculum and concepts in one or more art forms. </li><li>Ability to guide students through the design process, from brainstorming and prototyping to testing and final presentation. </li><li>Ability to organize and maintain accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement, and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws. </li><li>Experience helping students develop technical fluency alongside aesthetic and conceptual understanding. </li><li>Experience working with middle and/or high school-aged students. </li><li>Experience working in a high school setting is a plus. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum requirement: a current State Department of Education Adjunct Instructor Permit and/or BA/BFA in related fields, plus relevant professional and/or teaching experience. </li><li>Eligibility for a Connecticut State Department of Education Adjunct Arts Instructor Permit required, requirements for permit eligibility: </li><li>(1) hold a bachelor's degree from an institution of higher education accredited by the Board of Governors of Higher Education, or regionally accredited, </li><li>(2) have a minimum of three years of work experience in the arts or one year of work and two years of specialized schooling related to the applicant's artistic specialty, and </li><li>(3) at least one hundred eighty hours of cumulative experience working with children in a private or public setting, including, but not limit to, afterschool programs, group lessons, children's programs, and artist-in-residence programs, or at least two years' experience as a full-time faculty member at an institution of higher education or been employed by an eligible inter-district magnet school prior to July 1, 2011 and for at least one year. </li></ul> <p>Certification/License: Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation to school site.</p> <p>Work Schedule:</p> <p>Monday - Friday, 20 hours a week.</p> <p>Late Shift: 10:15 - 2:15pm</p> <p>For further information, please contact Jaclynn Hart, Artistic Director, Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts High School at jhart@crec.org.</p> <p>To access the job description and salary range please click https://www.crec.org/careers/jobs.php</p> <p>JOB ID 13369 @ CREC: External Job Opportunities | Careers | Hartford, Connecticut</p>
