<p>Job Summary:</p> <p>The CNA/MA & Educational Paraprofessional will provide direct student health support under the supervision of the school nurse and assist in the educational setting to promote academic and personal success for students. This dual-role position supports student well-being, safety, and learning through both healthcare services and instructional assistance in the classroom.</p> <p>Qualifications: One must be a healthcare professional with a strong desire to work in a school setting with special needs children. In addition to having strong nursing skills, the following requirements are needed:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or equivalent required </li><li>Current certification as a CNA or MA (Medical Assistant) </li><li>CPR & First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain) </li><li>Experience working with children in healthcare or education settings is preferred. </li><li>Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and families </li><li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. </li><li>Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times </li></ul> <p>Health Services Duties (under the supervision of the School Nurse and Director of Health Services):</p> <ul> <li>Provide basic first aid and care for illness or injury according to district protocols. </li><li>Monitor students with chronic health conditions and assist with daily health needs. </li><li>Administer feedings/medications as directed and maintain accurate documentation. </li><li>Assist in health screenings for students as needed. </li><li>Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and healthcare providers regarding the students' needs while maintaining confidentiality. </li></ul> <p>Educational Support Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Assist Individual students with assignments, activities, and skill-building. </li><li>Support students with accommodations or modifications as outlined in the IEP or 504 plan. </li><li>Reinforce teacher-led instruction and help maintain an engaging, supportive classroom environment. </li><li>Provide supervision during transitions, recess, lunch, and other non-instructional times. </li><li>Support behavioral and social-emotional needs in collaboration with the teaching team. </li></ul> <p>Salary and benefits determined by the Classified Compensation and Benefits Package.</p>
