Nonnewaug High School math teachers are leaders in their field and specialize in meeting students' needs in and across a variety of State and National Standards. NHS math teachers work with their instructional leader to continually develop cutting edge curricula and lessons aligned with the Connecticut Common Core State Standards for Mathematics.</p> <p>Major Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Instruct in accordance with the Region 14 teacher job description </li><li>Develop and deliver a comprehensive math curriculum </li><li>Consult and collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents in understanding and meeting the needs of students in the school setting </li><li>Confer with families and professionals in the school and community for the best interests of the students </li><li>Plan, evaluate, and revise the math courses and programs </li><li>Pursue continuous professional growth to stay abreast of changes in the field </li><li>Perform additional duties, where appropriate, which are assigned within the scope of employment and certification </li><li>Utilize differentiated instructional strategies including Building Thinking Classrooms to teach a variety of math courses </li><li>Collaborate with teaching colleagues on subject area teams </li><li>Demonstrate willingness to seek and act on feedback from other instructional leaders, colleagues, and administrators </li><li>Establish and maintain frequent communication with parents, guardians, and families </li><li>Evaluate student needs based on data and employ a variety of instructional strategies to meet these needs </li><li>Collaborate with support staff and interventionists to develop and evaluate progress towards meeting measurable goals and objectives </li><li>Participate in professional learning opportunities provided by the district and incorporate new learning into instructional practices </li></ul> <p>SALARY: By Contract</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS: State of Connecticut Certification</p> <p>Math Teacher- 029 (Mathematics) required.</p> <p>WORK YEAR: By Contract</p> <p>UNION AFFILIATION: Nonnewaug Teachers Association</p> <p>Candidates of diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply.</p> <p>APPLY ONLINE:</p> <p>Letter of intent</p> <p>Resume</p> <p>3 letters of reference</p> <p>Transcripts</p> <p>Proof of Certification</p> <p>Wendy J.
