<p>DESCRIPTION</p> <p>Amazon's Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.</p> <p>Export Control Requirement:</p> <p>Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.</p> <p>Key job responsibilities</p> <p>We are looking for a stellar lawyer to join Project Kuiper's legal team. This lawyer will join a team responsible for providing legal counsel on all aspects of Kuiper's global compliance, supporting all legal aspects of Kuiper's global Law Enforcement and Intercept program. The lawyer will work with Kuiper's technical teams, public policy team, and other stakeholders throughout Amazon to strategize and advise on the constellation of regulatory issues involved in designing and building a global satellite network.</p> <p>Prior satellite or regulatory experience is helpful but not required. But a successful candidate must have the skills and curiosity to become familiar with the technical and regulatory aspects of our innovative constellation, satellites, software and ground-based infrastructure. Success in this role requires superb writing and analytical skills, excellent judgment in facing novel issues, a strong bias for action, creativity, collegiality, flexibility, and enthusiasm for our mission to connect the unserved and underserved around the globe.</p> <p>BASIC QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>5+ years of legal experience </li><li>Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent </li><li>3+ years of legal experience related to law enforcement and/or lawful intercept requests </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Strong communication skills (verbal, written, oral) </li><li>3+ years working on regulatory matters or technology related litigation </li><li>Ability to travel as needed </li><li>Ability to prioritize in a fast-moving environment </li><li>Ability to work independently while contributing successfully to cross-functional teams </li></ul> <p>Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.</p> <p>Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
