Yes Duties and Responsibilities</p> <p>Reporting to the Project Director for Achieving College Excellent (ACE), the ACE Advisor works on a team to assist with the implementation, coordination, and administrative support of the Achieving College Excellence program, a TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) program. The ACE Advisor will:</p> <ul> <li>Manage components of program administration, including record keeping, data generation, and documentation of services. </li><li>Develop academic support programs and services. </li><li>Coordinate holistic coaching strategies. </li><li>Implement personal/social, academic, career counseling. </li><li>Serve as primary academic advisor for first- and second-year students, and assist all ACE Scholars in developing meaningful academic and co-curricular plans. </li><li>Advise ACE Scholars on post-secondary course selection, financial aid, and scholarship information and resources. </li><li>Communicate degree requirements, academic policies (including FERPA) to students, parents/families, and faculty. </li><li>Present workshops on various academic-related topics. </li><li>Advise students in person, as well as via phone, e-mail, and video-conferencing through scheduled and drop-in appointments. </li><li>Develop advising resources promoting student success and retention in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. </li><li>Assist incoming first-year and transfer students through orientation programming. </li><li>Provide additional support to students in academic distress or on academic probation in accordance with academic policies; refers students needing additional support to appropriate campus offices and resources. </li><li>Provide assistance in completing financial aid applications, including FAFSA, and applying for admission to graduate and professional degree programs. </li><li>Facilitate financial/economic literacy instruction. </li><li>Serve as a liaison and develop relationships with campus partners. </li><li>Develop, coordinate, and execute new enrichment initiatives, services, events, and other program components as needed. </li><li>Teach ACE section/s of UNIV 101 First-Year Seminar. </li><li>Work with the various college/school primary Academic Advisors and/or department liaisons to provide wrap-around support for students. </li><li>Maintain accurate student records using various data management software. </li><li>Prepare student files for seamless transition to college/school primary Academic Advisors at the conclusion of students' sophomore year. </li><li>Assist with training and hiring student staff. </li><li>Attend TRIO-related training webinars/meetings. </li><li>Assist with planning and executing ACE events and signature programs. </li><li>Demonstrate a commitment to serving diverse student populations, including first-generation college students, low-/limited-income students, and students with disabilities. </li><li>Participate in Student Academic Services and Scholars Programs signature programs, events, and activities that ACE Scholars participate in, such as: Orientation, New Student Convocation, finals week proctoring, open houses, and student celebrations. </li><li>Perform related duties as required. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Education and/or Work Experience</p> <p>Master's degree in College Student Personnel, Counseling, or related field required and one to two years of related experience.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree and one to two years of related experience; master's degree in counseling, education, social work, or related field preferred. </li><li>One to two years of academic advising experience at an institution of higher education. </li><li>Experience working with TRIO students, including low-income, first-generation, and students with disabilities or similar populations. </li><li>Excellent interpersonal, written communication, public speaking/presentation skills, research, and problem-solving skills. </li><li>Must have the ability to work effectively with undergraduate students in a holistic manner with an enthusiasm for providing student-centered services in the Ignatian tradition. </li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team of committed academic advisors and student affairs professionals. </li><li>Ability to help students develop an appreciation for and understanding of the Jesuit approach to education and the Core curriculum. </li><li>Must be able to work some evening and weekend hours in a fast-paced environment. </li><li>Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred, but not required. </li></ul> <p>Certificates/Credentials/Licenses</p> <p>Bachelor's degree and one-to-two years of related experience.</p> <p>Computer Skills</p> <p>Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Office suite, Internet, email applications and Student Information System (PeopleSoft). Familiarity with any/all of the following is beneficial but not required: Lacai, Sakai, MS SharePoint and Teams; EAB Navigate360; Zoom.</p> <p>Supervisory Responsibilities No Required operation of university owned vehicles Yes Does this position require direct animal or patient contact?
