<p>Our New York City, NY office is looking for an architectural student attending college or university for architecture. This is a summer Architectural Internship design role. At Stantec we design with community in mind, and you will have an opportunity to be enrolled in our company wide intern development summer program. In this program you will join a diversified team of your peers guided by our experienced architects and engineers as you collaboratively work together on a community enriching project. You will work on tasks with close guidance and direction from a Senior Designer or Architect. You will be working on projects specialized in space programming and site planning, as well as developing elevations, sections, and architectural details with the rest of the team. You will be assisting with innovative and creative new prototypes, design with sustainability in mind, and attend building site visits and client interactions.</p> <p>Learning begins in the classroom but there's no better place to gain real-world experience than with Stantec. Interns are an integral part of our teams, working to solve some of the world's most complex challenges.</p> <p>As an intern, you'll work alongside our experienced practitioners and with our clients and communities. This hands-on experience will equip you with practical skills, build your network, and provide opportunities that set you up for success.</p> <p>Your Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Conduct basic interpretations of sketches, drawings, codes, building program and other similar material. </li><li>Support project team in development of design documentation. </li><li>Assist in the development of a design through sketches,? 3D models? diagrams, massing studies, and other visual formats. </li><li>Utilize BIM technologies in development of 3D models of buildings and their components. </li><li>Assist in research of concept, benchmarks, materials, typology, and precedents. </li></ul> <p>Your Capabilities and Credentials</p> <ul> <li>Basic understanding of how to use technology as a design tool. </li><li>Ability to develop sketches and communicate visual concepts and ideas to others effectively. </li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>To interpret sketches, drawings, building program and other similar material. </li><li>Requires understanding of 3D modeling software including, but not limited to Revit, AutoCAD, 3DS Max, Rhino, SketchUp. </li><li>Extensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is a plus. </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>Working toward bachelor's or master's degree in architecture or related field </li></ul> <p>Submission Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Portfolio Sample </li><li>Resume </li></ul> <p>Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.
