<p>Job Details</p> <p>Job Location: New Rochelle - New Rochelle, NY</p> <p>Position Type: Full Time</p> <p>Salary Range: $30.00 - $32.97 Hourly</p> <p>Description</p> <p>Summary:</p> <p>Reporting to the Associate Director of Student Financial Services, the Coordinator serves as a key member of the Student Financial Services team, providing high-quality customer service to prospective and current students and their families regarding billing, payments, and financial aid. This role requires a high level of professionalism, discretion, and a strong commitment to student support.</p> <p>The Coordinator is responsible for advising students on financial aid processes, coordinating outreach efforts, managing communications, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate empathy, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate complex financial systems while maintaining strict confidentiality</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Advise students and families on financial aid eligibility, application procedures, cost of attendance, and financing options. Assist with student account inquiries, including billing, payments, holds, and refunds. </li><li>Manage high-volume communications through email, phone, and in-person interactions, ensuring timely and accurate responses. </li><li>Oversee outreach and follow-up for Master Promissory Notes (MPN) and Entrance and Exit Counseling requirements. </li><li>Coordinate the NYSHESC TAP process, assisting students with application completion and submission of missing information. </li><li>Support the Senior Director of Financial Aid with the Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) process, including student notifications, appeal reviews, and communication of appeal decisions. </li><li>Manage the Federal Verification process by reviewing student and parent tax documents to ensure accuracy, resolve discrepancies, and ensure regulatory compliance. </li><li>Oversee outreach for missing financial aid information, following up with students to facilitate timely processing of aid awards. </li><li>Resolve FAFSA Comment Codes, errors, and conflicting information to ensure accurate financial aid eligibility determinations. </li><li>Administer Monthly Payment Plans and e-commerce platforms; reconcile accounts and process payments. Provide follow-up for delinquent accounts. </li><li>Assist with other collection related outreach to students and parents. </li><li>Handle and reconcile student account transactions, refunds, and Residential Life charges. </li><li>Manage daily deposit procedure (checks and cash deposits). </li><li>Process electronic forms (e.g., FERPA, Title IV Waivers). </li><li>Respond to inquiries via walk-ins, general SFS email box, and phone; assist with outreach and front desk coverage. </li><li>Deliver high-quality customer service to students and parents regarding all financial matters, promoting a positive student experience. </li><li>Participate in recruitment and retention events such as Admissions Open Houses, Accepted Students Days, Move-in Weekend, and other campus and community activities, including some evening and weekend responsibilities. </li><li>Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned to support the goals of the Student Financial Services team. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Education: Associates Degree required.</p> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>1-3 years of customer service experience; experience in higher education strongly preferred. </li><li>Financial aid experience with a working knowledge of federal, state, and institutional aid processes. </li><li>Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills; ability to interact effectively with diverse populations. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage priorities under pressure, and maintain strict confidentiality. </li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with PeopleSoft preferred. </li><li>Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment. </li></ul> <p>About Iona University/EEO language</p> <p>Founded in 1940, Iona University is a master's-granting private, Catholic, coeducational institution of learning in the tradition of the Edmund Rice Christian Brothers.
