<p>Job Summary:</p> <p>Provides administrative support for department of rehabilitation, primarily by verifying patient insurance benefits and retrieving authorizations. Consistently monitors accounts to ensure necessary steps have been taken for proper reimbursement of insurance companies. Stays current on changes and updates from insurance industry.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <p>The NYS Department of Civil Service has developed the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement (HELP) Program. During this program, the NYS Civil Service Exam requirements are suspended for the Hospital Patient Services Clerk 2 title.</p> <p>For consideration for this title, you must meet one of the following minimum qualifications:</p> <p>NYS Department of Civil Service Eligible list or eligible for transfer</p> <p>Or</p> <p>Promotional:</p> <p>You must be a qualified employee of the State University of New York and have had one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Hospital Patient Services Clerk 1 or as a Nursing Station Clerk 1</p> <p>Or</p> <p>Open Competitive (Non-competitive, NY HELPS) Qualifications:</p> <p>Two years of full-time clerical experience in a health care setting; or two years of full-time secretarial experience in a health care setting; or two years of full-time patient care experience in a health care setting.</p> <p>Work Days:</p> <p>Schedule based on a 40 hour work week.
