We encourage you to apply and become a valued member of our vibrant campus community today!</p> <p>At the University of Wyoming, we are committed to creating a supportive and enriching workplace.</p> <p>JOB TITLE:</p> <p>Academic Intern - University of Wyoming Athletics</p> <p>JOB PURPOSE:</p> <p>The Academic Intern will support the University of Wyoming academic support unit in its daily operations. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and interested in a career in athletic academic services. The intern will assist with academic tracking, weekly class checks, study hall management, and eventually mentor and advise a small caseload of student-athletes.</p> <p>Hours: Approximately 23 to 25 hours per week (8:00 AM to 1:30 PM Monday through Thursday, plus Monday evenings)</p> <p>Term: Fall 2025 (with potential to continue in future semesters)</p> <p>JFNTMP</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Conduct weekly class checks and report attendance </li><li>Monitor and manage study hall sessions, including QR code tracking and student accountability </li><li>Run Monday evening study hall and report back to Coordinators </li><li>Assist with weekly grade reports, academic tracking, and hold checks </li><li>Track alcohol education completion and other academic compliance tasks </li><li>Support academic coordinators in preparing reports, organizing documentation, and maintaining files </li><li>Build rapport with student-athletes and support a range of academic needs </li><li>Review and organize weekly academic schedules and assignment list </li><li>Maintain confidentiality and discretion </li><li>Create and maintain spreadsheets in Excel </li><li>After the initial semester, mentor and advise a caseload of student-athletes with guidance from Coordinators </li><li>Serve as a reliable, professional presence in the academic center </li></ul> <p>COMPETENCIES:</p> <ul> <li>Strong written communication skills with knowledge of APA and MLA formatting </li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Excel and able to learn quickly </li><li>Interest in a career in athletics or academic support </li><li>Able to work in-person during assigned hours </li><li>Able to maintain confidentiality and follow FERPA guidelines </li><li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail </li><li>Professional communication skills </li><li>Demonstrated interest in pursuing a career within college athletics. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree at the University of Wyoming </li><li>Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 </li></ul> <p>DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Graduate student </li><li>Pursuing a degree in education, sports management, counseling, or a related field </li><li>Previous experience working with student-athletes, including those with learning disabilities </li><li>Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds </li><li>An understanding of how college athletics works </li><li>Familiarity with University of Wyoming classes and campus structure </li><li>Ability to manage responsibilities independently and support a small caseload over time </li><li>Interest in continuing in the role for more than one semester </li><li>Genuine interest in a future career supporting student-athlete academics in the college athletics environment </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED APPLICATION MATERIALS:</p> <p>Complete the online application.
