<p>Primary Purpose:</p> <p>Provide Leadership Development Corps (LDC) students with appropriate learning experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth; enable students to develop competencies and skills related to basic leadership, organization, character, citizenship and self-discipline to function successfully in society.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education/Certification</p> <p>Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university</p> <p>Special Knowledge/Skills</p> <p>Effective communication, interpersonal and public relations skills</p> <p>Familiar with principals of instruction</p> <p>Become familiar with CCISD LDC Cadet Field Manual</p> <p>NASP Basic Archery Instructor (or ability to become certified)</p> <p>Experience Leadership experience as a non-commissioned officer, warrant officer, or commissioned officer in any branch of the U.S. armed forces (Active or Reserve Components) or Texas State Guard.</p> <p>Major Responsibilities and Duties</p> <ol> <li> <p>Serves as the instructor of the LDC detachment.</p> </li><li> <p>Manages the LDC program in accordance with school rules, regulations, and customs.</p> </li><li> <p>Advise school authorities on laws and regulations affecting the legal and safe operation of the LDC program.</p> </li><li> <p>Continually evaluate the LDC program.</p> </li><li> <p>Enforce the physical training and dress uniform dress-out policy.</p> </li><li> <p>Must be prepared to handle school and District budget requirements to support the LDC program.</p> </li><li> <p>Conduct risk assessments prior to engaging in training that carries moderate to high risk to life, limb, or property.</p> </li><li> <p>Enforce property accountability.</p> </li><li> <p>Coaches the LDC Academic, Color Guard, Drill, Stryker, Archery, Physical Training, and Orienteering Teams and provides constant Instructor supervision.</p> </li><li> <p>Advise the cadet leadership.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate extracurricular activities and out-of-district travel in accordance with school and district policy.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities in support of campus operations as assigned.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate and support summer activities as directed by the Coordinator, Leadership Development Corps, and the Coordinator, Department of Leadership Education and Development.</p> </li><li> <p>Stay up-to-date professionally through the selection of quality staff development opportunities for personal growth.</p> </li><li> <p>Research district policy, precedent, and current practices prior to taking action.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate as an effective team member who contributes to district, department, and content goals.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrate integrity and ethics.</p> </li><li> <p>Display proficient levels of technology applications.</p> </li><li> <p>Utilize time wisely for effective management of job responsibilities.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, and meetings.</p> </li><li> <p>Meet task completion deadlines established by supervisor.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain friendly customer-service-driven interactions with all stakeholders, students, teachers, administrators, and co-workers.</p> </li><li> <p>Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/department are met.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal).</p> </li><li> <p>Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned.</p> </li></ol> <p>Working Conditions</p> <p>Mental Demands</p> <p>Effective communication; ability to maintain emotional and professional control in all circumstances</p> <p>Physical Demands/Environmental Factors</p> <p>Frequent districtwide travel; exposure to various weather conditions</p> <p>Terms: 230 Days</p>
