In short, We Enable Possibility?.</p> <p>Arch Insurance Group Inc., (AIGI), has an opening with the Claims Division as a Assistant Vice President, Excess Casualty Claims. In this role, the responsibilities include leading the development, implementation and execution of claims strategies to deliver optimal loss cost management and customer satisfaction in support of overall business objectives. Lead and direct Complex claims department leadership and personnel in achieving high standards of productivity, efficiency and alignment of organizational goals. Ensure compliance with all local, federal and state regulations related to claims while minimizing risk/exposure to the Arch organization.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Cultivate a departmental culture that excels in communication and collaboration </li><li>Drives the development, implementation and continuous planning, organizing and leading of all claim programs, metrics, processes, results and initiatives across E&S casualty Excess claims unit </li><li>Leads, directs and has full management accountability for Claims staff with an emphasis on talent management and succession planning in accordance with corporate strategic direction </li><li>Collaborates with Underwriting, Risk Management, Actuarial, and other stakeholders to ensure knowledge sharing on market trends, legal changes, portfolio management and loss developments </li><li>Manage staff performance; implement strategies and plans to address staff development; identify and address training needs on an ongoing basis </li><li>Responsible for cost containment strategies including allocated and unallocated expenses within the Claims operation </li><li>Assist with development of Claims annual operational goals, objectives and budgets </li><li>Manage and ensure accurate and timely case reserving </li><li>Communicate effectively with Underwriters, brokers and reinsurers on relevant claim developments </li><li>Attend mediations, arbitrations, depositions, trials, as necessary </li><li>Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree; Juris Doctorate degree preferred </li><li>10-12 years working experience in legal environment or the insurance industry managing a team supporting commercial accounts for high exposure Excess Casualty claims, litigation, and coverage </li><li>Demonstrated people management and development skills in a service/account management role </li><li>Detailed technical knowledge of general liability claims handling with the ability to advise Casualty Claims Examiners on the handling of complex injury and coverage cases </li><li>Hands-on experience and strong aptitude with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word </li><li>Exceptional communication (written and verbal), evaluating, influencing, negotiating, listening, and interpersonal skills to effectively develop productive working relationships with internal/external peers and other professionals across organizational lines </li><li>Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, analytical, organizational, and time management skills </li><li>Ability to analyze, organize, and present information in a clear and succinct manner </li><li>Ability to take part in active strategic discussions </li><li>Ability to work independently and in a team environment </li><li>Willing and able to travel 15% </li><li>Role is hybrid and (2) days in office </li></ul> <p>#LI-SW1</p> <p>#LI-HYBRID</p> <p>For individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below, the base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.</p> <p>O'Fallon/Texas/Alpharetta: $95,800 - $129,348/year</p> <p>Jersey City/NY: $123,600 - $166,900/year</p> <ul> <li>Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs.
