<p>Advertisement Closes</p> <p>3/20/2025 (8:00 PM EDT)</p> <p>req68441</p> <p>Mechanical Maint & Operations Techn II</p> <p>Pay Grade 12</p> <p>Salary</p> <p>$49,929.12 Annually</p> <p>Employment Type</p> <p>EXECUTIVE BRANCH | FULL TIME | ELIGIBLE FOR OVERTIME PAY | 18A | 40.0 HR/WK</p> <p>Click here for more details on state employment.</p> <p>Hiring Agency</p> <p>Justice & Public Safety Cabinet | Department of Corrections</p> <p>Location</p> <p>Green River Correctional Complex</p> <p>1200 River Road</p> <p>Central City, KY 42330 USA</p> <p>Description</p> <p>The Kentucky Department of Corrections (DOC), Division of Adult Institutions operates correctional facilities that house Kentucky's adult inmate population.</p> <p>The mission of DOC is to protect the citizens of the Commonwealth and to provide a safe, secure and humane environment for staff and offenders in carrying out the mandates of the legislative and judicial processes; and, to provide opportunities for offenders to acquire skills which facilitate non-criminal behavior.</p> <p>The Mechanical Maintenance and Operations Technician III acts as a lead worker in the maintenance and operation of associated systems and equipment at the institution.</p> <p>Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:</p> <ul> <li>Inspects assigned area projecting maintenance needs in consultation with the appropriate department heads. </li><li>Performs all preventative maintenance for their assigned work area and coordinates work with other skilled trade areas (plumbers, electricians, etc.). </li><li>Inspects equipment and responsible for determining equipment needs and order parts as needed. </li><li>Supervises the support teams that perform work within assigned area. </li><li>Prepares reports and ensures documentation as needed. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <p>EDUCATION: High school graduate.</p> <p>EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Four years of experience in the maintenance or repair of HVAC, refrigeration, ventilation, or electrical systems.</p> <p>Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Formal training in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.</p> <p>Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Experience in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the education on a year-for-year basis.</p> <p>SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be 18 years of age.</p> <p>Working Conditions</p> <p>May be required to take care of emergency repairs twenty-four hours a day.</p> <p>Probationary Period</p> <p>This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.</p> <p>If you have questions about this advertisement, please contact Vicki Allen at Vicki.Allen@ky.gov.</p> <p>An Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/D</p>
