<ul> <li>Schedule surgical appointments for the practice </li><li>Obtain reports of lab work, X-ray, EKG reports by primary care doctor, cardiologist, etc. and fax to the appropriate facilities </li><li>Obtain surgical authorizations in accordance with insurance company guidelines to ensure proper financial clearance </li><li>Communicate with referring providers regarding scheduling and completion of surgeries </li><li>Check-in and check-out patients as needed; responsibilities will include verifying and obtaining insurance and demographic information, collecting co-payments, and scheduling follow-up appointments </li><li>Answers the phone in a timely, polite and professional manner, in three rings or less, directs calls to appropriate persons and takes accurate messages within the electronic medical record </li><li>Demonstrate the ability to adjust to unexpected changes to assure that all responsibilities /duties are met during absences or increased patient volumes. </li><li>Maintains harmonious and cooperative relations with fellow employees, medical staff, patients and guests </li><li>Maintains confidentiality regarding patient information in accordance to HIPAA regulations </li><li>Float to front desk for coverage when needed </li><li>Ability to float to other MACC practices when required </li><li>Perform other work-related duties and activities as assigned or requested </li><li>Ability to read, write and communicate in English </li><li>High school graduate or equivalent </li><li>Experience in a medical office setting including scheduling of at least one (1) year experience or Bachelor's Degree </li><li>Demonstrated excellence in providing customer service </li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills </li><li>At least one (1) year experience with current office technology, proficient with medical computer office applications (Electronic Medical/Health Records, MS Office, etc.) preferred </li><li>Medical Terminology knowledge preferred </li><li>Typing skills at 30 WPM preferred </li></ul>
