<p>Job Title: Power Electronics Engineer</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>We are seeking a dedicated Power Electronics Engineer to innovate and develop next-generation power electronics for solar, energy storage, EV charging, and test applications.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Develop high-frequency bidirectional DC-DC converters, AC-DC grid-tie inverters, and resonant converters. </li><li>Lead projects from concept to productization, ensuring innovative solutions and designs. </li><li>Create and implement digital control algorithms and innovative magnetics. </li><li>Collaborate closely with PCB layout designers to develop high-density power designs. </li><li>Work in tandem with mechanical designers to enhance product design, including sheet metal, heatsinks, and bus bars. </li><li>Achieve UL & CE compliance for various products and lead EMC compliance activities. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. </li><li>Strong experience in power electronics design and solid understanding of basic physics and electronics. </li><li>Proficiency in high frequency power stages, filtering, circuit protection, thermal and EMI/EMC considerations. </li><li>Strong skills in Matlab, Simulink, and Sim-power Systems. </li><li>At least 2 years of related experience with power electronics and control systems design. </li><li>Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse professionals. </li><li>Ability to work independently, multitask, and consistently meet deadlines. </li><li>Strong process orientation and problem-solving skills. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Master's Degree in power electronics with over 5 years of industry experience in power converter development. </li><li>Experience in design, testing, and debugging of DC-DC or 3-phase AC-DC converters with voltage range 400-900V and power levels over 2kW. </li><li>Experience with power semiconductor parts, cooling mechanisms, passive components, protection circuits, and sensing circuits. </li><li>Understanding of PCB layout design for high voltages and familiarity with UL1741 standards. </li><li>Familiarity with safety/EMI standards for power converter systems and EMC requirements and filter design. </li><li>Understanding of hardware-mechanical and hardware-software interfaces. </li><li>Experience in a power-electronics and industrial packaging manufacturing environment. </li></ul> <p>Job Type & Location</p> <p>This is a Permanent position based out of Milwaukee, WI.</p> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $140000.00/yr.</p> <p>Full benefits- health, dental, vision, 401K</p> <p>Workplace Type</p> <p>This is a fully onsite position in Milwaukee,WI.</p> <p>Application Deadline</p> <p>This position is anticipated to close on May 22, 2026.</p> <p>About Actalent</p> <p>Actalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
