<p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Aircraft Mechanic is responsible for performing technical maintenance and repair work on the enterprise fleet of aircraft, including single and multi-engine aircraft. The enterprise fleet includes 1998 Beechcraft King Air 350, 2001 Pilatus PC12, Cessna 172s, Cessna 337, and single engine Cessna aircraft, used by the Department of Administration, Department of Transportation, and Department of Natural Resources to fulfill state business and operational needs. The fleet includes aircraft with advanced systems, such as Garmin 1000 avionics and EFIS 40/50 systems as well as Pratt and Whitney PT6 turbine engine systems. Maintenance work may involve troubleshooting, inspecting, repairing, and replacing aircraft components and systems to ensure safe and reliable operation.</p> <p>The Aircraft Mechanic performs annual and progressive inspections, as required by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and performs, inspects, or approves aircraft for return to service after a major repair or major alteration.</p> <p>Aircraft Mechanics perform routine scheduled inspections but are also expected to be available for unscheduled issues and respond to emergency situations that may affect aircraft safety or operational readiness.</p> <p>This position will make independent decisions regarding aircraft safety and regulatory compliance in accordance with FAA standards and agency policies.</p> <p>For a complete list of duties, see the position description.</p> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>Starting salary for the Aircraft Mechanic (06-63) will be between $30.00 and $43.66 per hour. Pay for current state employees will be in accordance with the State Compensation Plan.
