The successful candidate will be responsible for completing initial evaluations, reevaluations, and Functional Behavior Assessments. The School Psychologist is responsible for educational evaluations of children referred for eligibility for special education programs and for the re-evaluation of students in special education programs. The school psychologist shall serve as a partner on education teams in the development and implementation of specific programs, instruction, behavior management, and student social and emotional programs/instruction.</p> <p>Candidate must have expert knowledge of the state and federal regulations governing eligibility for special education services and Section 504 Service Agreements.</p> <p>Please review attached position description for full list of essential functions.</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENT</p> <p>Education: A minimum of a Master's degree from an accredited institution.</p> <p>Certification: PA School Psychologist certification required</p> <p>Experience: Experience in the area of certification is preferred.</p> <p>Language Skills: Ability to evaluate, interpret and analyze; Effective written and verbal communication skills; Ability to maintain written records, and effectively present information to colleagues, students, parents, and administrators; Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with tact and diplomacy</p> <p>Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts, math reasoning, and math logic</p> <p>Other Skills & Abilities: Demonstrate knowledge of Special Education Regulations and Federal Laws relating to students with disabilities. Demonstrate knowledge of best practices pertaining to the education of gifted students as well as students with disabilities and at-risk students. Ability to collaborate with administrators, professional, and para-professional staff. Demonstrate experience in curriculum development as it pertains to students with disabilities, ELL students and gifted students.</p> <p>WORKPLACE EXPECTATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Must demonstrate regular and punctual attendance. </li><li>Must interact positively with administration, students, staff, parents, and community members. </li><li>Must demonstrate professionalism and appropriate judgment in behavior & speech and dress in a neat, clean, and professional manner. </li><li>Must follow all District policies, work procedures and reasonable requests by proper authority. </li><li>Must maintain the integrity of confidential information relating to students and families. </li><li>Follow established protocols as outlined in Student/Faculty/Support Staff handbooks </li></ul> <p>Other Requirements: Applicants must also possess the following criminal clearances obtained within the last 12 months: Act 34 - PA Criminal Record; Act 114 - FBI Background Check; Act 151 - PA Child Abuse Clearance. The Ephrata Area School District also requires a pre-employment drug test, physical, and TB test upon offer of employment as directed by PDE and the PA Department of Health.</p> <p>Status: Contracted position</p> <p>Salary: Based upon EAEA Collective Bargaining Agreement</p> <p>The Ephrata Area School District will not discriminate in employment, education programs, or activities based on race, sex, handicap, or national origin.
