We invite you to learn more about our strategic plan and core priorities on our website at https://salemk12.org/.</p> <p>The Salem High School Marching Band is currently seeking candidates to fill the following position for the 2025-2026 Marching Band season.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Attendance at August Band Camp, Tuesday/Thursday night rehearsals, and Saturday rehearsals/competitions (attendance can be flexible with prior notice and planning </li><li>Coordinate with Band Director and Percussion Director on the season's pedagogical, creative, and competitive goals. </li><li>Introduce, develop, and refine skills needed for competitive marching percussion performance, ranging from beginner to advanced. </li><li>Lead sectional and/or subsectional rehearsals with guidance from the Directors. </li><li>Instruct and provide feedback to students and staff during ensemble rehearsals and in sectional rehearsals. </li><li>Interact with students, parents, and other staff in a professional manner </li><li>Attend staff meetings and maintain open communication with staff members/director </li><li>Maintain equipment and make minor repairs, as needed. </li></ul> <p>Experience Needed:</p> <ul> <li>Previous experience performing in battery percussion (High School/College/WGI/DCI, etc.) </li><li>Ability and willingness to work with high school students of varying ability levels and different backgrounds </li></ul> <p>This is a stipend position paid by the Salem Music Boosters.</p> <p>Equal Opportunity Employer</p> <p>Salem Public School District is committed to maintaining a work and learning environment free from discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, pregnancy, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital/civil union status, ancestry, place of birth, age, citizenship status, veteran status, political affiliation, genetic information or disability, as defined and required by state and federal laws.
