<p>Job Title: Electrical Design EngineerJob Description</p> <p>The Automation Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for designing industrial control panels and enclosures suitable for harsh environments, including PLC, remote I/O, operator stations, network, and drive cabinets (both DC and AC). This role involves component selection, sizing, and layout, primarily focusing on Engineer-to-Order (ETO) systems. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the drafting department and the automation engineering team to provide customized solutions that meet customer requirements.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Receive assignments from the hardware design lead. </li><li>Communicate with the project team on specific project requirements, including engineering, manufacturing, and quality aspects. </li><li>Collaborate with the drafting department to produce, review, check, and mark-up engineering drawings, including bills of material (BOM), panel layouts, and electrical schematics. </li><li>Determine appropriate part numbers for PLC, I/O, and drive equipment. </li><li>Size equipment, fusing, breakers, wires, power supplies, and more based on design specifications and sound engineering principles. </li><li>Create Input/Output lists in Excel using existing customer electrical drawings. </li><li>Ensure clear communication and attention to detail throughout the entire build and design phases. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Proficiency in control panel design and layout. </li><li>Expertise in hardware and electrical design. </li><li>Experience with PLCs, HMIs, and CAD design. </li><li>Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC, Siemens PLC, and related technologies. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience in industrial automation control equipment design. </li><li>Experience with PLCs (such as Allen Bradley, Siemens, and GE) and drives (such as Siemens, ABB) is strongly preferred. </li><li>CAD experience (2D and/or 3D) is advantageous. </li><li>Experience serving industrial customers and/or previous experience with designing industrial control enclosures to UL508A and NEC standards is a plus. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>The work environment involves collaboration with a dynamic team, utilizing advanced technologies and equipment for industrial design.
