<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Fulfills the mission of Norwich University by increasing fundraising capacity through the successful qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individuals with the capacity to make gifts ranging from $25,000 to $1 million. The role may also serve as a liaison to one or more of the University's academic programs.</p> <p>Remote or hybrid work may be authorized for this position. Strong preference for candidates based in the western US.</p> <p>Salary: $79,000 or more depending on experience.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Develops and executes a comprehensive moves management strategy for a portfolio of approximately 150 major gift prospects. </li><li>Assumes primary responsibility for outreach and engagement with assigned prospects. The portfolio will include prospects in 5-6 regional territories. </li><li>Qualifies continuously new prospects and collaborates with the prospect management team on assignments and strategy. </li><li>Cultivates, solicits, and stewards alumni, parents, and friends of the University in alignment with institutional priorities. </li><li>Serves as a resource, advocate, and representative for Norwich's upcoming campaign and all institutional fundraising initiatives. </li><li>Develops proposals and solicit gifts, including complex and planned gifts, independently or in partnership with senior leadership. </li><li>Prepares prospect briefings, stewardship plans, and correspondence for university leadership, coordinates closely with faculty and staff. </li><li>Supports and coaches University leadership and volunteers in major gift solicitations. </li><li>Ensures timely and accurate documentation of prospect interactions and gift-related activity in the CRM. </li><li>Stays informed on Norwich's strategic priorities, academic programs, and faculty leadership to inform donor conversations. </li><li>Attends and support alumni and donor engagement events regionally and on campus. </li><li>Completes timely expense reports and after-action trip reports. </li></ul> <p>Other Functions</p> <ul> <li>Maintains confidentiality of sensitive or private information. </li><li>Communicates with employees, students, and others in a respectful and clear manner. </li><li>Serves on University committees, councils, workgroups, or other designated bodies as assigned. </li><li>Achieves, maintains proficiency in, and utilizes computers, telephones, and other job-related equipment, including related systems and software. </li><li>Speaks, reads, and writes in English. </li><li>Communicates by telephone, email, letter, in person, or other means or device. </li><li>Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelors degree </li><li>3 years of demonstrated success in soliciting and closing major gifts or sales within another industry. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to qualify and engage new prospects. </li><li>Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills. </li><li>High level of initiative, accountability, and ability to work independently in a remote, goal-oriented environment. </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. </li><li>Analytical thinking and familiarity with data-informed decision making. </li><li>Ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders including alumni, donors, faculty, and leadership. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. </li><li>Comfort with digital tools and virtual donor engagement. </li><li>Ability to contribute to a collaborative, positive, mission-driven team culture across physical locations </li><li>Valid driver's license. </li><li>Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, and Outlook). Experience with Raiser's Edge or comparable CRM is a plus. </li><li>Able to sit, squat, reach, push, pull, and manipulate related equipment; lift 15 pounds; travel outdoors to various parts of the campus </li><li>Work some evening or weekend hours </li><li>Travel as needed (public or private transportation) </li></ul> <p>Environmental Conditions</p> <ul> <li>Indoor work at a computer workstation. </li><li>Low level of exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vibrations, and temperature changes. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Norwich University is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to providing a positive education and work environment that recognizes and respects the dignity of all students, faculty and staff.
