<p>Join our team to research, develop, and validate next-generation electro-pneumatic servo and process control technology for final control elements, including control valves, actuators, and digital valve controllers. This role blends control theory, modeling, embedded-adjacent software development, and hands-on laboratory testing to deliver measurable improvements in system stability, robustness, and performance across diverse industrial applications.</p> <p>In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:</p> <ul> <li>Research, develop, and evaluate new hardware and software solutions that enhance final control element performance. </li><li>Partner with internal teams and customers to understand process and valve control challenges, develop use cases, and translate needs into technical requirements. </li><li>Perform control system analysis for electro-pneumatic systems to assess stability, robustness, and performance. </li><li>Design, set up, and execute hardware, software, and electronics testing to validate performance across applications. </li><li>Support Device Design, Software, and Service teams by evaluating new features and products and their impact on overall system performance. </li><li>Develop content (intellectual property / patents, methodologies, white papers, articles, training, etc.) for served industries and peers. </li></ul> <p>Who You Are:</p> <p>You seek new approaches to solving problems and thoughtfully analyze diverse information to clearly define challenges before developing solutions. You demonstrate initiative and resilience in complex situations, proactively identifying opportunities to improve outcomes. You are comfortable working in a hands-on laboratory environment and collaborate effectively with others to drive innovation and shared success.</p> <p>For This Role, You Will Need:</p> <ul> <li>A bachelor's of science degree in Engineering, or a related STEM field. </li><li>Professional experience applying control theory, modeling, or system analysis in an industrial, research, or development environment. </li><li>Experience conducting technical analysis and experimental validation in hardware and software systems. </li><li>The ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:</p> <ul> <li>5 years of related work experience </li><li>An advanced degree in a relevant technical discipline. </li><li>Advanced knowledge of control algorithms and system identification, including loop stability, robustness, and performance analysis. </li><li>Strong foundation in control and modeling fundamentals such as transfer functions (Laplace) for mechanical and electronic systems. </li><li>Experience with multivariable control methodologies. </li><li>Proficiency with MATLAB and Simulink. </li><li>Familiarity with analog and digital signal processing. </li><li>Experience working with pneumatic systems. </li><li>Programming experience in one or more of the following languages: C/C++, C#, R, or Python. </li></ul> <p>Our Culture and Commitment To You:</p> <p>At Emerson, we prioritize a workplace where every employee is valued, respected, and empowered to grow.
