We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site, for most internships. Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program. Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full-time positions, not internships.</p> <p>International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year. to experience life at Tesla by giving them ownership over projects that are critical to their teams success.</p> <p>About the Team</p> <p>If you are excited about writing code to make things move, tinker with electronics and motors to affect a change in the physical world and enjoy the grind and reward of working across multiple disciplines while rooted in software, an integration engineer internship in the chassis systems is for you.Our team is a combination of software engineers, mechatronics engineers, and vehicle dynamics engineers. We work on challenging problems that span safety-critical software, embedded systems, motor controls, electronics actuation, and vehicle dynamics.</p> <ul> <li>Write embedded C code to prototype actuator control strategies and evaluate real-time performance </li><li>Use Python to develop automation tools for testing, data logging, and system diagnostics </li><li>Integrate embedded software with hardware systems and validate end-to-end functionality </li><li>Analyze CAN logs and sensor data using Python-based scripts to identify system-level issues </li><li>Support debugging of hardware/software integration issues across ECUs, sensors, and actuators </li><li>Collaborate with firmware and systems engineers to implement and test low-level control algorithms </li><li>Assist in building test infrastructure that bridges embedded software with mechanical and electrical components </li><li>Contribute to software/hardware bring-up and help validate new PCBA designs using C and Python tools </li><li>Currently pursuing a degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field of study with a graduation date between May 2026 - December 2027 </li><li>Embedded C experience through internships, school projects, or student design clubs </li><li>Electrical engineering fundamentals with prior experience designing PCBAs, preferred </li><li>Experience with networked micro-controllers, CAN or other vehicle networking protocols, preferred </li><li>Experience with Python programmingis a plus </li><li>Knowledge of version control (Git) and continuous integration (Jenkins)ispreferred </li></ul>
