<p>Work Schedule: Monday- Friday: 9am - 5pm with occasional late nights during the work week (11am - 7pm) and an occasional Saturday with an abbreviated work schedule (9:30am - 1:30pm).</p> <p>Position Overview:</p> <p>To manage the overall administrative and clinical activities in the Dental Department. This work is carried out in support of the mission and goals of Ryan Network.</p> <p>Dental Department Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Hire, train, evaluate, and discipline departmental staff, as appropriate. </li><li>Manage and supervise all administrative and clinical aspects of the Dental Department. </li><li>Supervise the Dental Department operations in order to ensure that services are provided in an efficient and effective manner. </li><li>Plan, organize and direct all dental services activities. </li><li>Prepare and submit all clinical reports, including budgets. </li><li>Develop and implement all clinical and operational dental clinic systems. </li><li>Coordinate dental services with all other Health Center Departments. </li><li>Develop and implement Dental Outreach and in reach strategies. </li><li>Implement preventive dental strategies. </li><li>Assist in the completion of dental insurance forms and other forms that patients require. </li><li>Provide in-service education for professional and auxiliary staff </li><li>Oversee the dental quality improvement program. </li><li>Oversee Departmental audits/reviews, including Joint Commission survey preparation. </li><li>Perform competency assessments and annual evaluation of Dental staff. </li><li>Maintain a roster of dental patients and treat dental emergencies (walk-ins). </li><li>Perform high quality dental treatment including diagnosis and treatment planning, preventive dentistry, prophylaxis, scaling/root planing, restorative dentistry, removable prosthodontics, oral surgery, etc. </li><li>Maintain all dental records in an organized manner, including scanning into the electronic health record all required dental forms (e.g., medical history form, dental charting form, etc.). </li></ul> <p>Other Responsibilities:.</p> <ul> <li>Practice accepted infection control measures in accordance with the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standards and Joint Commission guidelines, and Center Policies and Procedures. </li><li>Must demonstrate a professional, courteous and respectful attitude in dealing with patients, immediate supervisor and other employees. </li><li>Attend required Departmental and Center meetings and conferences. </li><li>Immediately report any problems or unusual occurrences to the President/CEO. </li><li>Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by the President & CEO. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education Required</p> <p>D.D.S. or D.M.D.</p> <p>Licenses Required</p> <p>License to practice dentistry in New York State; DEA Controlled Substances Registration Certificate.</p> <p>Experience and/or Skills Required</p> <ul> <li>Must be a general dentist or dental specialist with experience and competency in clinical dentistry. </li><li>Commitment to and knowledge of community dental health and Radiology services. </li><li>Management and supervisory experience required. </li></ul> <p>Minimal Training Time</p> <p>Probationary Period - 6 months</p> <p>Job Hazards</p> <p>Works with radiation under the strictest supervision in compliance with Bureau of Radiological Health rules and regulations.</p> <p>Competencies Required:</p> <p>Customer Service:</p> <ul> <li>Professional, courteous and respectful attitude in dealing with patients </li><li>Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served (if applicable). </li><li>Commits to exceeding expectations of the patient </li></ul> <p>Cooperation/Teamwork:</p> <ul> <li>Works well with others </li><li>Contributes input to improve outcomes </li><li>Asks others for opinions and feedback, provides feedback in a tactful respectful way </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <p>Physical Demands</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
