<p>Under general supervision, this position performs tasks required for the delivery of stage services in a full-service, multi-purpose arts center. </p> <ul> <li>This position performs duties deemed to be safety sensitive. This job description does not constitute an employment agreement and the Town may change these duties at any time.</p> <ul> <li>Assists in the assembly and disassembly of lighting, sound and scenic elements, and band gear. </li><li>Constructs risers and musical equipment as well as other specialized theatrical equipment. </li><li>Assists with the loading and unloading of trucks. </li><li>Assist in the production of live events including the operation of theatrical equipment including spotlights and other lighting, video and projection elements and moving scenery. </li><li>Assists with the proper maintenance of theatrical equipment and, in addition, maintains a safe working facility for employees and patrons. </li><li>May act as a Stage Manager for some events; may perform supervisory duties while assisting in these tasks. </li><li>Responsible for having a general understanding of and receives cross-training in all facility operations, including technical equipment, box office and concessions; may serve in these capacities as needed. </li><li>Ensures compliance with Town and Departmental policies and procedures. </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, certification and/or licensure required. An equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the essential duties and meet the necessary employment standards may be considered.</p> <p>Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age with one (1) year of experience in theater production or closely related field. </p> <p>A bachelor's degree in theater production/technical theater or related field is preferred. </p> <p>Employment Standards</p> <p>The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of relevant town, state, and federal laws, regulations, and policies. </li><li>Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures. </li><li>Knowledge of theatrical equipment and procedures such as theatrical lighting, audio systems, video projection, fly systems, etc. </li><li>Skill in the provision of customer service. </li><li>Skill in managing multiple tasks, conflicting priorities, and working under deadlines, even in stressful situations. </li><li>Skill in verbal and written communication, including issuing and following clear instructions. </li><li>Skill in basic housekeeping tasks and in the use of general cleaning equipment and supplies. </li><li>Skill in operating computers, modern office equipment, and small/light tools. </li><li>Ability to set up and take down event equipment and supplies both indoors and outdoors. </li><li>Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. </li><li>Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with coworkers, supervisors, Town officials, community organizers, the public, and contractors. </li><li>Ability to work independently, analyze situations carefully, and adopt effective courses of action. </li><li>Ability and willingness to learn, implement, and adapt to Departmental/Divisional policies and evolving procedures. </li><li>Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, holidays, and various shifts. </li><li>Ability to pass a pre-employment background process and drug screening. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions</p> <p>The working conditions described below are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential duties of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with a disability to perform the essential duties.</p> <p>Tools & Equipment</p> <p>Requires use of general office equipment such as computers, printers, telephones, and related software. Use of specialized tools or equipment may also be necessary, including but not limited to technical devices, mechanical tools, heavy equipment, machinery, public-safety-related items, or other industry-specific systems. If required by the position, the employee may operate a personal or Town-owned vehicle.</p> <p>General and Sensory Requirements</p> <p>The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and use hands and fingers to handle or operate objects, tools, or controls. Duties may also require stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing stairs or ladders, and maintaining balance. The employee must be able to talk and hear effectively, both in person and over the phone, and must be capable of operating a vehicle if required by the role. Vision requirements include consistent near and far visual acuity, depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus to allow a broad field of vision.</p> <p>Heavy Physical Demands</p> <p>This position requires sustained and demanding physical activity. The employee must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to fifty (50) pounds frequently and more than one hundred (100) pounds occasionally with assistance. </p> <p>Environment</p> <p>Physical presence onsite is required. Work is primarily performed in a climate-controlled office environment, but the employee may occasionally work in varied indoor and outdoor locations. The noise level is typically moderate but may be loud during events. This position occasionally involves work in inclement weather, including extreme heat, cold, wind, or precipitation.
