<p>The Logistics Support Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the Capacity Managers by handling all non-revenue producing duties. This includes tracking and tracing carriers, communicating issues with pickup and delivery appointments, and issuing load confirmations. The Logistics Support Specialist works closely with Capacity Managers to resolve shipment issues, ensuring all parties are informed and solutions are provided to meet customer expectations.</p> <p>Schedule - 3pm-12:00am</p> <p>What you will be doing:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Prepare and Send Load Confirmations:</p> </li><li> <p>Generate and distribute load confirmation sheets to carriers.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate Load Information:</p> </li><li> <p>Relay all original load details to carriers, including:</p> </li><li> <p>Driver information via email</p> </li><li> <p>Pick-up and delivery dates/times</p> </li><li> <p>Temperature settings on BOL (Bill of Lading)</p> </li><li> <p>Appointment changes (clearly communicated to carrier and dispatcher)</p> </li><li> <p>Special requirements</p> </li><li> <p>Report Delays:</p> </li><li> <p>Notify shippers, receivers, and customer teams of any delays within assigned zones.</p> </li><li> <p>Track and Trace Loads:</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor and trace all loads in specified areas at least once daily, per customer expectations.</p> </li><li> <p>Efficiently manage tracking for multiple loads per carrier.</p> </li><li> <p>Create EFS Checks:</p> </li><li> <p>Issue EFS checks as required, adhering to Hirschbach security protocols.</p> </li><li> <p>Build Relationships:</p> </li><li> <p>Develop strong working relationships with drivers in assigned regions.</p> </li><li> <p>Forecast and Communicate Issues:</p> </li><li> <p>Anticipate potential load issues and promptly report to Capacity Manager and Area CSR.</p> </li><li> <p>Request Documentation:</p> </li><li> <p>Request BOLs and lumper receipts as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate OS&D Issues:</p> </li><li> <p>Clearly convey any Over, Short, and Damaged (OS&D) issues to relevant internal and external parties.</p> </li><li> <p>Note: Financial discussions are handled by the Capacity Manager.</p> </li><li> <p>Respond to ETA Requests:</p> </li><li> <p>Address ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival) inquiries from Customer Service or Load Planners.</p> </li><li> <p>Follow Through on Issues:</p> </li><li> <p>Thoroughly investigate and resolve issues, escalating to the Capacity Manager as necessary.</p> </li><li> <p>Other Duties:</p> </li><li> <p>Perform additional tasks as assigned by zone leaders.</p> </li></ul> <p>Talent Requirements</p> <ul> <li> <p>Technical Proficiency:</p> </li><li> <p>Working knowledge of AS400 applications, MS Excel, MS Outlook, Internet, and database applications.</p> </li><li> <p>Communication:</p> </li><li> <p>Strong written and verbal communication skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent interpersonal skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Geographical Knowledge:</p> </li><li> <p>Basic understanding of geography and time zones.</p> </li><li> <p>Organizational Skills:</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to multitask and manage varying tasks simultaneously.</p> </li><li> <p>Data Entry:</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent data entry skills.</p> </li></ul> <p>Company Overview</p> <p>Founded in 1935, Hirschbach Motor Lines has built a sterling reputation for delivering time and temperature-sensitive freight across 48 states.
