<p>JOB TITLE</p> <p>Temporary Writing Center Tutor</p> <p>LOCATION</p> <p>Worcester</p> <p>DEPARTMENT NAME</p> <p>Humanities & Arts - JM</p> <p>DIVISION NAME</p> <p>Worcester Polytechnic Institute - WPI</p> <p>JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY</p> <p>The Humanities & Arts Department at WPI is seeking to hire a temporary tutor to assist graduate students (and occasionally undergraduates) in developing their writing skills by providing constructive feedback on the structure, argumentation, and clarity of student compositions.</p> <p>This is an on-site part-time 5 -10 hour per week position with a pay rate of $22 per hour.</p> <p>JOB DESCRIPTION</p> <p>Responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>Holding consultations with students (both with individuals and with small groups) </li><li>Attending monthly staff meetings </li><li>Assisting with outreach across campus </li></ul> <p>Requirements include:</p> <ul> <li>Candidates must demonstrate strong writing ability and listening skills. </li><li>Familiarity with academic genres in both the humanities and the sciences is preferred. </li><li>Applicants must have a graduate degree or be currently enrolled in a graduate program to qualify. </li></ul> <p>To apply: Please submit a resume and any supporting documents you would like reviewed.</p> <p>FLSA STATUS</p> <p>United States of America (Non-Exempt)</p> <p>WPI is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
