<p>Job Title: Superintendent of Construction</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to manage all on-site activities for heavy civil and marine construction projects. This role ensures work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with quality standards and client specifications.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Oversee daily field operations from mobilization through project completion. </li><li>Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel. </li><li>Maintain adherence to project schedules and budgets; implement corrective actions as needed. </li><li>Enforce OSHA standards and safety policies; conduct regular safety meetings and inspections. </li><li>Monitor workmanship and ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements. </li><li>Maintain accurate daily logs, progress reports, and site documentation. </li><li>Identify and resolve issues that could impact timelines or costs. </li><li>Collaborate with Project Managers, engineers, and clients to ensure smooth project execution. </li><li>Manage equipment, deliveries, and material staging on-site. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred. </li><li>5+ years of experience in heavy civil or marine construction supervision. </li><li>Strong knowledge of construction methods, safety regulations, and building codes. </li><li>Proficient in reading blueprints and specifications. </li><li>Familiarity with construction management software (e.g., Procore) and scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project). </li><li>Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience with DOT, bridge, and marine infrastructure projects. </li><li>OSHA 30-hour certification. </li><li>Ability to manage multiple crews and subcontractors. </li><li>Experience in construction inspection, safety, and subcontractor management. </li><li>5+ years of project superintendent work. </li><li>Experience in heavy civil construction, including DOT, railroads, bridges, deep foundations, and excavating/sitework. </li><li>Experience with projects exceeding $15 million. </li><li>Familiarity with Procore/Bluebeam. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>This position requires onsite work five days a week, with occasional time at client offices or project sites. The company operates a large fabrication facility and owns its equipment, producing high-grade parts for specialized projects.
