<p>Job Title: FPGA Engineer</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>We are seeking an experienced FPGA Engineer with strong digital signal processing (DSP) and wireless communications expertise to develop and validate FPGA IP supporting a scalable software/firmware-based RF platform for satellite communications. You will implement, modify, integrate, and test FPGA cores across commercial and proprietary hardware/software environments and contribute to high-performance, modular FPGA-based designs.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Design, implement, and verify FPGA-based IP cores for SATCOM RF/DSP applications. </li><li>Integrate and test HDL modules on FPGA/SoC platforms (commercial and proprietary). </li><li>Collaborate with systems, hardware, and software teams to define architectures and partition functionality across FPGA fabric, embedded processors, and system software. </li><li>Develop and simulate DSP/control algorithms using MATLAB, Python, or similar tools; translate models into efficient FPGA implementations. </li><li>Produce subsystem requirements and technical documentation, such as ICDs, design reports, and specifications, and support reviews throughout the development lifecycle. </li><li>Plan, execute, and document integration and test activities at both subsystem and system levels. </li><li>Provide technical guidance to internal and external teams working on FPGA/SoC/processor/antenna subsystems. </li><li>Contribute to standards-related efforts and continuous improvement of engineering processes and best practices. </li><li>Support business development activities as needed, including providing technical inputs, proposal support, and assessments. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>FPGA Design working with Xilinx and VHDL. </li><li>DSP implementation in FPGA fabric. </li><li>Experience with RFSoC or other SoC platforms for FPGA, high-speed digital, Ethernet, systems integration software, simulation, and verification software. </li><li>Strong FPGA development experience using Verilog and/or VHDL across the full design flow. </li><li>Hands-on experience with AMD/Xilinx Vivado and/or Intel/Altera toolchains. </li><li>Working knowledge of high-speed digital interfaces and SoC integration. </li><li>Experience in electronic warfare, radar, DSP, digital receivers, waveform generation, SDR, or SWaP-constrained embedded processing. </li><li>Proven success in delivering hardware/software integrated systems. </li><li>Understanding of wireless communications PHY/MAC concepts. </li><li>Lab bring-up and troubleshooting skills using test equipment, such as spectrum analyzers and oscilloscopes. </li><li>Ability to debug and maintain Linux-based embedded systems. </li><li>Familiarity with version control systems like Git/Subversion and collaborative development workflows. </li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to work effectively in cross-disciplinary teams. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>This position will be based at either the Peachtree Corners, GA site or the R&D facility in Frederick, MD. The work environment consists of a small team of embedded software, RF, and hardware engineers. You will collaborate directly with an external FPGA engineer through another services firm. Opportunities for travel to tradeshows and customer sites may arise to lead discussions in your field of expertise. The team values long-term growth as the company continues to expand and win new projects.</p> <p>Job Type & Location</p> <p>This is a Contract position based out of Frederick, MD.</p> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $85.00 - $100.00/hr.</p> <p>Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
