<p>Notice of Vacancy</p> <p>Date: December 10, 2025 Deadline to Apply: December 24, 2025</p> <p>Position: Special Education Teacher: Certified #40042</p> <p>Location: Silver Creek Middle School</p> <p>Status: Full-Time</p> <p>Beginning Date: January 5, 2026</p> <p>Job Summary: Special Education Teacher</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Valid Indiana certification for the teaching assignment and specialized training for the program area. </li><li>Bachelor's Degree or higher in special education, licensure in Mild Disabilities. </li><li>Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, teaching skills, problem solving skills, and willing to assist and support students. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities & Duties:</p> <p>Assesses student needs; plans for, guides, and evaluates student learning; communicates student progress to students and parents. Assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the building principal or his/her designee.</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrate knowledge of special education laws </li><li>Meet all local, state, and federal guidelines and timelines </li><li>Communicate effectively with administration, staff, and parents </li><li>Maintains records of performance for all students who have IEPs </li><li>Monitors all student records </li><li>Assess student performance and facilitate case conferences to ensure compliance with local, state and federal requirements </li><li>Supervise, train, and monitor paraprofessionals in their responsibilities </li><li>Provide data driven progress reports to parents/guardians at least each 9 week reporting period </li><li>Collaborate with students, parents, and other team members to develop appropriate IEPs </li><li>Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement and goals addressed in the IEP </li><li>Provide data driven progress reports to parents/guardians at least each 9 week reporting period </li><li>Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned </li><li>Provide students with specially designed instruction based on their unique needs </li><li>Attend all required professional development activities and meetings </li><li>Demonstrate high standards of professionalism and ethics </li><li>Maintain confidentiality </li><li>Exercise initiative </li><li>Possess good judgment </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned </li><li>Maintain punctual and regular attendance </li></ul>
