<p>Division/Unit: Investigation Bureau</p> <p>Civil Service Title: Supervising Rackets Investigator</p> <p>Position Title: Assistant Director of Security</p> <p>Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>The New York County District Attorney's Office (DANY) has an opening for an Assistant Director of Security in its Investigation Bureau. In this position, with some latitude for independent judgment and initiative, the Assistant Director is responsible for assisting in supervising and providing physical security, safety, and maintenance of order in the office. Reporting to the Director of Security, the Assistant Director will oversee delegated security measures at DANY.</p> <p>Responsibilities include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Assists in directing and supervising security unit in accordance with standing orders. </li><li>In the absence of the Director, supervises, works with, approves weekly timesheets, and evaluates the performance of Security staff. </li><li>Escorts Assistant District Attorneys and witnesses to and from court. </li><li>Coordinates with Human Resources to post job openings and conducts interviews of applicants for security roles. </li><li>Assists in preparing the unit's daily work schedule. </li><li>Coordinates operations with the police department and other law enforcement agencies as required. </li><li>Working on special projects and tasks as assigned. </li><li>Must be willing to work flexible hours. </li></ul> <p>In addition to the Minimum Qualification Requirements, candidates must possess the following:</p> <ul> <li>Seven (7) or more years of security experience with at least three (3) in a supervisory position. </li><li>Possess a valid certificate of completion from New York State Basic Course for Police officer's academy. </li><li>Firearms qualification required. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Requirements/Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated familiarity working alongside contracted security officers. </li><li>Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. </li><li>Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access. </li><li>Ability to work with frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workflow. </li><li>Ability to work independently and manage multiple short-term projects. </li><li>Ability to follow directions and apply proper policies, procedures, and guidelines. </li><li>Strong attention to detail and high concern for data accuracy. </li><li>Dependable team player who works collaboratively and cooperatively with staff in a team-oriented environment. </li><li>Must be able to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment, detail oriented, self-motivated, and able to multi-task. </li><li>Ability to interact with all levels of staff and other law enforcement agencies. </li></ul> <p>How to Apply:</p> <ul> <li>Submit a Cover Letter and Resume. </li></ul> <p>Hours/Shift:</p> <ul> <li>Monday - Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with flexibility to work additional hours, weekends and overtime as needed. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <ul> <li>Current office employees: To be eligible for a transfer or promotion, staff must have already served at least one (1) year in their current unit/bureau/department and be in good standing. In addition, must meet the minimum and additional qualifications of the position. </li><li>Authorization to work in the United States is required for this position. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualification Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Graduation from high school or its equivalent and four years of full-time, paid experience in police enforcement or investigative work, two years of which must have been in rackets or police investigative work. </li><li>Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1". However, all candidates are required to have two years of full-time, paid experience in rackets or police investigative work. </li></ul> <p>Public Svc Loan Forgiveness:</p> <ul> <li>As a prospective employee of the City of New York, you may be eligible for federal loan forgiveness programs and state repayment assistance programs.
