<p>This Opportunity</p> <p>WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-Time Resident Engineer/Construction Manager for our Tempe, AZ office. Be involved in projects within Arizona, with our Construction Management Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and their challenges</p> <p>Your Impact</p> <p>Pre-construction phase:</p> <ul> <li>Conduct constructability reviews of design documents </li><li>Provide cost estimating and budget development </li><li>Help with bid package preparation and contractor selection </li><li>Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other consultants </li><li>Scheduling and coordinating Pre-construction and Partnering meetings </li></ul> <p>Construction phase:</p> <ul> <li>Monitor project progress against schedule and budget </li><li>Identify and manage potential risks </li><li>Review change orders and recommend approvals </li><li>Oversee quality control and safety compliance </li><li>Reviews project activities with client and contractor's field supervision resolving disputes and other daily issues </li><li>Oversees materials testing activities </li><li>Reviews daily inspection reports and other project documentation </li><li>Facilitate communication between the owner, design team, and contractors </li><li>Conduct regular site visits and progress meetings </li><li>Analyze project data to identify cost-saving opportunities </li><li>Provide recommendations for project adjustments as needed </li><li>Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures </li><li>Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs </li></ul> <p>#LI-TD1</p> <p>Who You Are</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent experience </li><li>Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of AZ. Or Able to obtain AZ registration through reciprocity / comity. </li><li>Minimum of 10 years of relevant construction experience </li><li>A demonstrated ability to read and completely understand contract documents </li><li>Deep understanding of construction practices, specifications, codes, and project delivery methods </li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders and solve problems </li><li>Proven experience in construction management, preferably with a focus on owner representation </li><li>Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Certified Construction Manager (CCM) desired </li><li>Experience working on city, county and or state construction projects desired </li><li>Experience in one or more of the following areas: Highways; Rail; Aviation; Water; Mining </li></ul>
