<p>Maintenance Technician</p> <p>(Including Bus Mechanic and Trip Scheduling Responsibilities - assist as needed)</p> <p>General Description: Diagnoses problems and replaces worn or broken parts as necessary. Performs all work following established safety procedures and meets established estimated times noted by the manufacturer and performs preventative maintenance, routine, and emergency repairs to all MVCTC vehicles (cars, trucks, buses, etc.) and equipment (front end loaders, trailers, snow plows, Gators, etc.); Performs those duties assigned which will contribute to the physical operation of the MVCTC, including but not limited to: assisting in the general maintenance of the buildings and grounds; removing snow and spreading salt on walks; event setup/tear down; doing minor repairs on plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems; unloading heavy boxes, pipe, angle iron, steel, etc.; moving machinery and furniture; and driving lift truck to hoist equipment in various locations.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Any combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to high school graduation</p> </li><li> <p>Meet all the physical, mental, and moral requirements established by federal rule, state laws and Chapter 3301-83 of Ohio Administrative Code</p> </li><li> <p>Possess a minimum of four (4) Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Automotive Certifications (Automotive A1-A-8 or Medium/Heavy Duty Truck T1-T6, S5, S6 or School Bus S1-S7) or obtain and maintain ASE certifications within 18 months of employment</p> </li><li> <p>Being physically qualified (Rule 3301-83-07 of Ohio Administrative Code)</p> </li><li> <p>Possesses Ohio School Bus Driver's license, Class B-SP Endorsement Commercial Driver's License</p> </li><li> <p>Once employed, subject to the Federal Commercial Driver License Drug and Alcohol laws, including random, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident testing</p> </li><li> <p>Previous experience/training in maintenance work preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Good knowledge of the equipment, materials, methods, and practice and tools used in facility maintenance work</p> </li><li> <p>Good knowledge of common related trade hazards and necessary safety precautions, and ability to employ safety precautions</p> </li><li> <p>Skill in the use of tools, equipment, and materials pertinent to the trade</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to follow written and oral instructions, diagrams, and manufacturers' manuals</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships</p> </li><li> <p>Strength and dexterity necessary to perform all required tasks including lifting (75 lbs.), stooping, bending, working in tiring and uncomfortable positions, and from ladders and scaffolds</p> </li><li> <p>Possession of an appropriate valid automotive vehicle operator's license</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work outdoors and in a variety of temperatures and climate conditions</p> </li></ol> <p>(Continued on the next page)</p> <p>Length of Contract: 260 days</p> <p>Salary: $49,098 to $80,030</p> <p>Last Day to Apply: August 29, 2025, or until position is filled</p> <p>Apply Online at: www.mvctc.com/employment</p> <p>For Information Contact: Mike Study, Maintenance Supervisor</p> <p>Miami Valley Career Technology Center</p> <p>6800 Hoke Road, Englewood, OH 45315</p> <p>(937) 854-6289</p> <p>mstudy@mvctc.com</p>
