<p>Department: Col of Visual and Performing Arts</p> <p>Classification: GMU Worker</p> <p>Job Category: Part-Time / Hourly Wage</p> <p>Job Type: Part-Time</p> <p>Location: Fairfax, VA</p> <p>Workplace Type: Hybrid Eligible</p> <p>Salary: $20/hour</p> <p>Criminal Background Check: Yes</p> <p>About the Department:</p> <p>The College of Visual and Performing Arts is dedicated to advancing the study, creation, performance, and exhibition of the arts, acting on a strong belief in their transformative influence on individuals and societies. The College honors the values of great traditions in the arts while actively engaging in the creation of new works and ideas.</p> <p>About the Position:</p> <p>As a joint role, the Schedule and Production Assistant will report to both the Schedule and Event Coordinator and the Digital Programming Producer.</p> <p>This is a great opportunity for someone interested in gaining hands-on experience in digital production coordination, performing arts management, events management, and venue operations while also building skills in communication and project management.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>Duties within Scheduling and Events will include:</p> <ul> <li>Gathering post-event recap data; </li><li>Drafting event estimates & invoices; and </li><li>Maintaining client records. </li></ul> <p>Duties within Digital Programming will include:</p> <ul> <li>Scheduling and attending department & production meetings; </li><li>Drafting & distributing production briefs and calendars; and </li><li>Assisting with budget tracking and asset management. </li></ul> <p>Some administrative needs vary throughout the year so other related duties may be assigned as needed.</p> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once while ensuring all tasks are completed on time; </li><li>Outstanding interpersonal skills and experience working with colleagues from diverse backgrounds; </li><li>Must be self-motivated and able to work independently; </li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills; </li><li>Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Teams; </li><li>Ability to work a regular schedule of 10-20 hours per week, mostly between business hours of 10:00am to 6:00pm; and </li><li>Must have reliable personal transportation and be able to work in-person on GMU's Fairfax campus, but some work may be be done remotely. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Prior experience working in film or digital production; </li><li>Prior experience and/or strong interest in performing arts, arts management, event management, or a related field; and </li><li>Familiarity with scheduling databases and digital collaboration tools such as 25Live and Smartsheet. </li></ul> <p>Instructions to Applicants:</p> <p>For full consideration, applicants must apply for Schedule and Production Assistant at https://jobs.gmu.edu/.
