<p>What We're Looking For:</p> <p>Barge Design Solutions is currently seeking to fill the position of Roadway Design Engineer (PE) in our Nashville, TN office.</p> <p>Responsibilities for this position include:</p> <ul> <li>Designs a variety of roadway project types including urban streets, rural highways, bridge replacements, sidewalks and trails, complex interchanges, roundabouts and intersection improvements </li><li>Collaborates with project team members, client representatives, review agencies to resolve a variety of complex problems </li><li>Supervises the work of less experienced engineers and/or technical support personnel assigned to the project </li><li>Prepares and reviews technical reports, drawings, plans, specifications, and permits for projects </li><li>Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents </li><li>Prepares cost estimates for assigned projects </li><li>Conducts project site visits, as needed </li><li>Demonstrates strong attention to detail </li><li>Demonstrates strong organizational and time management skills; Works independently on multiple tasks without immediate supervision </li><li>Builds and maintains excellent interpersonal relationships </li><li>Demonstrates working knowledge of Tennessee Department of Transportation systems, policies, and procedures </li><li>Understands standard operations, policies and procedures of a firm, preferably within the A/E industry </li><li>Performs other duties as requested </li></ul> <p>Education & Experience Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology from an accredited program </li><li>Minimum of 6 years of roadway design experience </li><li>Professional Engineer (PE) license in Tennessee or an ability to obtain PE in Tennessee within 6 months of start date is required </li><li>Experience using MicroStation V8i and Geopak is required </li><li>Working knowledge of the practical application of engineering principles, practices and techniques, including AASHTO guidelines </li><li>Skill using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel </li><li>Tennessee Department of Transportation project experience is desired </li></ul> <p>Why join us?</p> <p>Barge Design Solutions, Inc., is an engineering and architecture firm with diverse in-house multidisciplinary practice areas.
