For consideration please apply at www.simsbury.k12.ct.us</p> <p>Position Open Until Filled</p> <p>TITLE: Interventionist (Academic Tutor - with a focus on Math)</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Preferred CT State Teaching Certification in the area for which a job opening exists.</p> </li><li> <p>Consideration will be given to the following:</p> </li></ol> <ul> <li>Relevant and recent experience </li><li>Specialized training in the content area or program being taught </li><li>Various life experiences that enhance contributions to the overall district and/or school community </li></ul> <p>REPORTS TO: Department Supervisor/Building Administrator</p> <p>JOB GOAL: To diagnose and address individual student learning needs.</p> <p>General Description: In close collaboration with instructional specialists, the Interventionist accelerates learning for students not yet meeting standards using research-based, highly effective and responsive instruction. The Interventionist also communicates regularly with classroom teachers to ensure that emerging skills and strategies are evident in grade level content, promoting accelerated progress. Using assessment and observation data, the Interventionist monitors and evaluates student progress, responding to the individual academic needs of diverse learners to ensure high levels of achievement.
