<p>Position Summary</p> <p>The main responsibility of the Clinical Instructor is the instruction, supervision, and evaluation of nursing students in traditional classroom setting, lab or in a clinical environment.</p> <p>SALARY: Based on degree ASN - $30.16 per hour; BSN - $32.24 per hour; MSN - $34.32 per hour</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Adhere to the policies, rules, and standards of Central Alabama Community College, Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees, accrediting agencies and federal regulatory bodies. </li><li>Instruct, supervise, evaluate, and record nursing students' performance in clinical areas in the day, evening, or weekends at any clinical site. </li><li>Assist with orientation of students. </li><li>Assist with maintenance of skills lab and equipment. </li><li>Evaluate clinical sites and make appropriate recommendations. </li><li>Assist with implementation and evaluation of the curriculum and nursing program. </li><li>Maintain cooperative relationships with other faculty, hospital personnel, and community agencies. </li><li>Keep current on nursing knowledge, clinical practice skills and teaching methodologies. </li><li>Become familiar with policies and procedures on the nursing unit to which students are assigned. </li><li>Identify, select, and arrange appropriate clinical laboratory experiences for students. </li><li>Supervise all student clinical experiences including pre- and post- conferences during the day, evening, and weekend hours. </li><li>Exhibit skills in nursing techniques which are within the area of clinical teaching. </li><li>Serve as a role model for students. </li><li>Participate in professional growth activities. </li><li>Possess the ability to travel to all campuses, clinical sites, meetings and educational offerings. </li><li>Serve on college committees; attend faculty, departmental, and other meetings as assigned. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned that relate to the position. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN or ASN) is required. </li><li>Bachelor's degree (BSN) and/or Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) is preferred. </li><li>Two (2) years' experience in nursing practice is required. </li><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills and proficiency in English language is required. </li><li>An unencumbered Alabama registered nurse license is required. </li><li>Current CPR certification is required. </li><li>Evidence of current nursing knowledge, clinical skills and teaching competence is required. </li><li>Prior teaching experience at the RN and/or PN level is preferred. </li><li>Nursing practice in pediatric nursing or mental health nursing is preferred </li></ul> <p>Application Procedures/Additional Information</p> <p>Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications and must submit a completed application through the ONLINE application system by the deadline date in order to be considered for the position.
