<p>Sub Interpreter/Translator JobID: 9973</p> <p>Position Type:</p> <p>Student Services - Student Achievement - ESC/Translator</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>12/10/2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>District Wide</p> <p>Date Available:</p> <p>December 2025</p> <p>Closing Date:</p> <p>12/17/2025</p> <p>  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>DESCRIPTION: This position will be responsible for consecutive interpreting - the interpreter listens to complete statements in one language, translates to second, and translates response from second into first language and express either approximate or exact translation, depending on the situation.</p> <p>SALARY: Classified, $28.20 per hour, on-call as needed during the day or evening through the school year, no guarantee of hours. Substitute position. Not eligible for benefits.</p> <p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Translate spoken passages from one language into another. Provide consecutive or simultaneous interpretations between languages. </li><li>Primarily interpret for parents during parent / teacher conferences when needed. </li><li>Follow ethical codes that protect the confidentiality of information. </li><li>Translate written material from English to Spanish and vice versa according to established District policies and procedures. </li><li>Format and proofread documents to ensure that English and Spanish versions of documents are equitable in quality and appearance. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent, and up to two years college with specialized courses in translation. </li><li>Bilingual reading, writing, speaking and interpretation skills in Spanish and English - REQUIRED. </li><li>Excellent grammar and spelling in Spanish and English. </li><li>Good typing skills (45 words per minute). </li><li>Operating knowledge of and experience with computers, copy machines, phone systems, word processing and fax machines. </li><li>Ability to travel to all District locations. </li></ul> <p>EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of 2 years of experience in translation of written documents from English to Spanish and vice versa. </li><li>Experience in the education field preferred. </li><li>Internal Applicants - This would be a supplemental assignment to your current, regular assignment.
