<p>Job Details</p> <p>Job Location: Blackberry Farm - Walland, TN</p> <p>Position Type: Seasonal</p> <p>Salary Range: Undisclosed</p> <p>Job Shift: Day</p> <p>Description and Qualifications</p> <p>The Boat Captain is accountable for the safe and responsible operation of Blackberry Farm's watercraft, including all necessary functions of the vessel underway as well as needed maintenance.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following and other duties as assigned:</p> <p>Boat Operation and Trips</p> <ul> <li>SAFE OPERATION OF THE VESSEL following all state and USCG regulations </li><li>Maintain the safety of all guests and crew aboard </li></ul> <p>Boat Maintenance</p> <ul> <li></li><li>Maintain any applicable watercraft on a regular manufacturer-suggested schedule </li><li>Maintain the cleanliness of the given vessel regularly </li><li>Maintain functionality and cleanliness of all necessary gear (PFD's, ropes, boards, etc.) </li></ul> <p>Guest Relations</p> <ul> <li>Engage with guests aboard the boat and convey technical knowledge of the boat as well as the setting and activity </li></ul> <p>Must comply with all company policies and procedures.</p> <p>Regular and consistent attendance is required to perform the essential functions of this position.</p> <p>Must be able to work well with other Team Members and Managers and interact with our guests.</p> <p>Must have the flexibility to work weekends and Holidays.</p> <p>EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE</p> <ul> <li>3-5 years of experience and knowledge in boating </li><li>Relevant water sport/recreation experience </li><li>Must have a valid driver's license </li><li>Must have at least a USCG OUPV Captains License </li><li>High School Diploma or equivalent required </li></ul> <p>LANGUAGE SKILLS</p> <ul> <li>Must have excellent communication skills </li><li>Must be able to communicate with guests, team members, and managers effectively </li><li>Must interact extensively with guests </li></ul> <p>MATHEMATICAL SKILLS</p> <ul> <li>Basic knowledge and understanding of math </li></ul> <p>REASONING ABILITY</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions based on job knowledge and awareness of company goals </li><li>Must be able to assess current conditions to provide a safe and quality experience </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. </li><li>Must be able to be on feet most or all of the shift </li><li>Must be able to operate a company vehicle or golf cart safely </li></ul> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions </li><li>4,200 acres of Blackberry Farm Property </li></ul> <p>About Blackberry</p> <p>Blackberry Farm is a Relais & Châteaux property that has provided world renowned hospitality to family, friends and guests for almost 50 years.
