<p>Employment Type:</p> <p>Full time</p> <p>Shift:</p> <p>12 Hour Night Shift</p> <p>Description:</p> <p>At Saint Mary's Hospital, our Medical Oncology Registered Nurses (RNs) provide specialized, compassionate care to hospitalized patients undergoing cancer treatment. These dedicated professionals play a vital role in administering therapies, managing symptoms, and supporting patients and their families throughout their cancer journey. If you're passionate about oncology and want to make a meaningful impact, this could be the career for you.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Education: Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Licensure: Current and valid Connecticut RN license.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience: Minimum of 1 year in an acute inpatient setting.</p> </li><li> <p>Certifications: BLS or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.</p> </li></ul> <p>Work Schedule:</p> <p>Full-time 36 hours, Night</p> <ul> <li> <p>12-hour shifts- 7p to 7:30a</p> </li><li> <p>Schedule Weekend & Holidays are required.</p> </li></ul> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Patient Monitoring: Continuously assess patient conditions, monitor vital signs, administer medications, and document clinical progress.</p> </li><li> <p>Medication Administration: Deliver oncology-specific treatments with attention to accurate dosing, monitoring, and documentation.</p> </li><li> <p>Patient & Family Education: Provide clear, empathetic education on diagnoses, treatments, and self-care strategies.</p> </li><li> <p>Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Partner with physicians and healthcare teams to monitor neurological status, cognitive function, motor skills, and sensory responses.</p> </li></ul> <p>Ministry/Facility Information</p> <p>Saint Mary's Hospital is a Catholic, not-for-profit, community teaching hospital that has been serving patients in?Waterbury, CT,?and our surrounding communities since 1909.
