<p>Your Impact:</p> <p>As a Lab Technician at Appvion, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the quality and performance of our direct thermal paper and film products. Through hands-on testing, audits, and evaluations, you'll support innovation and product excellence-from raw material assessments to competitive benchmarking and production trials. Your attention to detail and commitment to accuracy will directly impact product reliability, customer satisfaction, and our continued success in the specialty coated materials market.</p> <p>What You'll Be Doing:</p> <ul> <li>Operate lab printers, scanners, and related equipment to evaluate the quality of direct thermal paper from production and pilot trials, as well as customer and field samples. </li><li>Safely handle lab chemicals to audit product samples and assess finished product quality. </li><li>Manage lab supply inventory and coordinate with purchasing to reorder as needed. </li><li>Participate in technical project team meetings and report on test results and share unusual lab observations. </li><li>Tabulate and organize data accurately for use by engineers, scientists, and sales/marketing teams. </li><li>Troubleshoot lab equipment and escalate unresolved issues to lab management. </li><li>Perform on-demand testing for production trials, operational upsets, or new equipment commissioning. </li></ul> <p>What You'll Bring:</p> <ul> <li>Associate degree in a related field, preferred </li><li>Minimum 4 years of experience in a testing laboratory or quality control environment, with a demonstrated ability to conduct routine testing and report results accurately and timely. </li><li>Experience in the paper, paint, or coatings industries is highly desirable. </li><li>Extremely detail-oriented and organized, with strong data recording and reporting skills. </li><li>Effective communicator, able to work cooperatively with cross-functional teams. </li><li>Strong time management skills: able to handle multiple test requests simultaneously and plan work efficiently. </li><li>Flexible and resilient under pressure, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities. </li><li>Proactive in seeking clarification when test parameters or requests are unclear. </li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word for data analysis and report preparation. </li></ul> <p>Who We Are</p> <p>Appvion is the North American leader in high-performance and sustainable specialty coatings for thermal paper, labels, and films.
