<p>Reports to: Sr. Director of Engineering and Maintenance FLSA Status: Salaried Exempt</p> <p>Job Code: Job Family: ENGINEERING Pay Grade/Band:</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>Richelieu Foods, Inc., a leading supplier of high-quality private brand food products to the retail and food service industries, is seeking a Controls Engineer, who will provide electrical and controls support for Production, Engineering and Maintenance.</p> <p>This role will collaborate with Engineering to define scope, design, estimates and oversight for the electrical portion of capital projects.</p> <p>This position will support Maintenance by developing technical documentation, troubleshooting, training and coaching.</p> <p>The ideal candidate will be well versed in the NEC and provide advice on all code and electrical safety matters for Richelieu Foods, Inc.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Drive a safety culture that prioritizes safe work practices and procedures, ensure all activities align with regulatory requirements that may apply, e.g., OSHA, EPA, USDA, state and local building and fire code regulations. </li><li>Ensure reliability of the electrical system (low and high voltage). </li><li>Optimize electrical/process control maintenance, hardware and operation costs. </li><li>Facilitate collaboration across departments to provide necessary support and expertise for the execution of capital investment projects. </li><li>Participate in the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) of new equipment and validate electricity and automation requirements. </li><li>Participate in the procurement process, programming tasks and contribute to all phases in capital projects that require electrical and controls support. </li><li>Ensure that project scopes are achieved within the agreed cost and timing. </li><li>Provide PLC and HMI software and hardware support for the factory. </li><li>Participate in the long-term electrical and controls infrastructure plan for all sites </li><li>Maintain current and complete electrical and controls as-built documentation. </li><li>All other duties and responsibilities as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Basic Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Associates Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience and minimum 3 years of related work experience. </li><li>Experience with PLC Programming, particularly with Rockwell Automation systems. </li><li>Knowledge of process instrumentation, experience with P&IDs and process automation. </li><li>Experience with AutoCAD. </li><li>Strong project management skills. </li><li>Ability to travel to all Richelieu Foods, Inc. sites. </li><li>Act as a Safety Champion with focus on electrical safety. </li></ul> <p>Desired Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience in food manufacturing or consumer goods industry. </li><li>Experience working in a combustible dust environment. </li><li>Knowledge of CMMS systems (EMaint or SAP preferred) or similar software experience. </li></ul> <p>Competencies</p> <ul> <li>Excellent communication skills. </li><li>Ability to maintain a positive attitude to lead, coach, and train. </li><li>Ability to communicate with cross-functional teams across all shifts. </li><li>Must possess a continuous improvement mindset. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to function in a team-based environment. </li><li>Capability to manage multiple priorities with a focus on delivery of goals and metrics. </li><li>Demonstrated ability in problem solving techniques. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>§ While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and power industrial trucks. The employee is frequently exposed to hot, wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.</p> <p>Universal Pay Verbiage</p> <p>The following information is provided in accordance with certain state and local laws. Compensation depends on experience, geographic location, and other factors permitted by law. The expected compensation for this role is between $100,000 and $125,000. This role is also eligible for an annual incentive plan bonus.
