<p>Description</p> <p>CCAP Mission Statement - To empower all people and communities, challenged by poverty as well as social and cultural barriers, through advocacy, education, and access to high quality health and human services.</p> <p>This job opportunity has locations in Cranston, Pawtucket and Providence.</p> <p>JOB SUMMARY:</p> <p>The Youth Development Specialist for Learn 2 Earn ensures that their assigned clients, youth/young adults ages 14 - 24 years old, receive a coordinated range of client-centered services to ensure completion of employment and education programs through the Learn to Earn Program.</p> <p>CCAP's Learn to Earn Employment, Training, and Education Programs assist the youth of Rhode Island ages 14 - 24 through free education, training programs, Work Readiness and Job Placement assistance. We provide a full range of services to youth enrolled in school and out of school. All enrollees are connected with a case manager to assist them in their education or employment goals throughout the program.</p> <p>WORK SCHEDULE DEMANDS:</p> <ul> <li>Full time, 35 hours per week, some evening hours may be required. Due to the nature of this job, this individual must be flexible with their schedule to accommodate the client population. Will be required to travel between youth centers throughout Rhode Island. </li><li>May be required to work at any CCAP location. </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <p>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Associates or bachelor's degree preferred, with 2-year experience in related field and/or relevant life experiences. </li><li>Must have demonstrated case management skills and experience, knowledge of youth development </li><li>Experience working with inner city youth, human relations, psychology, social work, or related field </li><li>Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills and organizational skills </li><li>Strong knowledge and use of Microsoft and Google platforms </li><li>Valid driver's license and proof of vehicle liability insurance </li><li>Provide/maintain all required immunizations and/or vaccinations </li></ul> <p>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and /or ability required. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <ul> <li>Provide case management to youth/young adults ages 14 - 24 enrolled in employment and education programs. </li><li>Conduct comprehensive intake and assessments on clients. </li><li>Monitors cases by verifying clients' attendance; observing and evaluating service strategy and responses; advocating for needed services; obtaining additional resources; intervening in crises; providing personal support. </li><li>Develop and guide youth through a service/plan in accordance with provisions stated by grant. </li><li>Track and record case information, complete forms and produce monthly attendance and case note reports. </li><li>Answer inquiries from potential program partners and incoming youth. </li><li>Develop ways to retain youth (ages 14-24) through motivation and encouragement. </li><li>Outreach and network with other youth serving programs and High Schools. </li></ul> <p>CONFIDENTIALITY OF INFORMATION:</p> <p>Has access to program case management records. Maintains confidentiality of all material in accordance with State and Federal law and CCAP policies and procedures.</p> <p>PHYSICAL EFFORT / ENVIRONMENT:</p> <p>The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The environment is a clinical business office environment.
