If you unsubscribe from emails, you will not receive notices to schedule interviews and testing.</p> <p>This position is responsible for performing a variety of clerical support functions, including microfilming of documents, cross indexing, data entry, and filing, in order to assist in the timely processing of various City of Southfield records, as well as performing specialized services related to the preparation for and setup of required materials for local, state, and national elections.</p> <ul> <li>Provide excellent customer service to customers, screen telephone calls, letters and/or visitors, answer questions and furnish information </li><li>Microfilms various documents as necessary for City's records retention function in order to preserve data for future use. </li><li>Manages city records retention policies; retrieves and distributes information for off-site storage </li><li>Maintains departments records including sorting, classification, and coding </li><li>Handles recruitment and onboarding of Election Inspectors and Counting Board members </li><li>Supervise and train Election Inspectors and Counting Board Members. </li><li>Prepares delivery of all election results and backup documents to County Clerks </li><li>Assist City Clerk and Deputy City Clerk with various functions including proofing ballots, preparation of precinct tabulators, loading and breakdown of ballot transfer cases, and other related activities. </li><li>Serves as backup support to Election Technician. </li><li>Perform other related duties as required </li><li>High school graduate or equivalent </li><li>Three years of related experience sufficient to produce knowledge of election laws and procedures </li><li>Ability to learn and develop proficiency of the operation of dedicated records-management equipment. </li><li>Ability to interact effectively with the public, Elected Officials, the business community, city staff and administration. </li><li>Must be available whenever needed throughout the year for evening meetings and on weekends during election season. </li></ul> <p>The selection process will include a review of the applicant's experience, criminal history and/or driving history check. Each step of the selection process must be passed before the applicant will be considered for advancement to the next step. Applicants will be invited to further participate in the selection process based on the nature and extent of their related experience.</p>
