<p>Department</p> <p>FSU Libraries</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>The Digital Research and Scholarship Director provides strategic leadership for digital scholarship and scholarly communication, aligning library services with the university's research mission and long-term goals. The position sets direction for digital research support across the Libraries and guides the ethical and strategic integration of generative AI and emerging technologies into the research lifecycle, balancing innovative computational approaches with the standards of traditional scholarship.</p> <p>This position supervises and mentors a team of professional librarians, including the Digital Humanities, Digital Publishing, and Scholarly Communication Librarians, and fosters a collaborative, high-impact service environment. Responsibilities include leadership in hiring and professional development, as well as co-leading the development of Digital Research Scholarship and Data Lab(s). The position helps establish the mission, framework, and programming for mentorship-focused, research-oriented technical skills curricula supported by dedicated physical spaces.</p> <p>Working closely with faculty, the Digital Research and Scholarship Director supports the development, execution, and dissemination of digital research projects. The role oversees the sustainability of platforms such as CreateFSU and the Digital Research Incubator, ensures access to technical and instructional support, and directs departmental grant-writing initiatives to secure external funding for digital research infrastructure, innovative projects, and programming.</p> <p>This position leads university-wide scholarly communication initiatives, including the administration of publishing funds, transformative agreements, and funder mandate compliance. The position oversees the repository and related platforms to support the preservation and global sharing of FSU's scholarly and creative outputs and provides guidance on copyright, licensing, and author rights.</p> <p>In collaboration with the Office of Research, IT Services, and academic departments, this position cultivates strategic partnerships that integrate library expertise throughout the research lifecycle.
